Hi pc:

12900K with NZXT KRAKEN X73 good temps

2x16GB DDR4 KINGSTON DDR4 3600MHZ in GEAR 1

RTX 3090 Ti Gigabyte Gaming

Aorus Z690 Elite DDR4 bios F5

SSD 1 TB NVM PCIE

Seasonic 1300W PX Prime Platinium

I am in Windows 11.

Hi. Today i get weird freeze in Far Cry 6. I dont know where can be issue. Temps are ok . I mean all suddenly stopped. I was hearing loud cpu fan. Not able to move keyboard and mouse. Only sound was in background.

Then after maybe 15 seconds all unfreeze and normal. It was hardware related i guess? Why that happen?

Also similiar thing i get in Control . But in Control all suddenly stop and not unfreeze like in Far Cry 6. In Control i must log out from system and log back in. I know in Control is E-Cores issue. But why i had similiar thing in Far Cry 6?!

But i am worried why during freeze i can hear loud cpu fan?

Tested ram by Karhu ,HCI Memtest no errors also.

@sew333: Pretty much every thread you create has to do with a crash you have experienced. This has happened on a wide range of hardware that you have owned. Haven't you figured out by now that games do crash occasionally and nothing is 100% stable? Seriously, WTF is wrong with you?

@girlusocrazy: Just look at the posting history. This has been going on for years. It is just sad at this point. I don't even bother trying to help anymore as he will just come back again whenever there is another crash. I never seen someone buy so much top end hardware and still be so clueless. More money than brains apparently.

temps was ok. In Far Cry 6 it happens after idling 30+- minutes in game. I left character standing in the same place ( normal fps ), then i go to pc press forward and boom, freez for 15 seconds and unfreeze.

I left game running for 30 minutes. It happens after idling 30+- minutes in game. I left character standing in the same place ( normal fps ), then i go to pc press forward and boom, freez for 15 seconds and unfreeze.

Everything freezed for 13-15 seconds ( i heard loud cpu fans , high usage? ), except for the audio and when i un-freezes, it's like it never happened (as in if i was walking, when it resumes, i will be ahead of where i am roughly equal to the time it was frozen).

It happens 2 times. Is my hardware ok? thanks

Just a shot in the dark here but when you upgraded your PC did you install a new copy of windows or did you carry over the install from your old system?

Yeah probably best to wipe it and start afresh. I have found that trying to carry over a windows install after upgrading/swapping the CPU and Mobo just leads to trouble and odd behaviour.

Hey guys, looking for a lil help for once. Recently upgraded to the 12900k and have been having full system locks, no blue screen just full freezes. I’ve uninstalled iCue, reseated ram and tries without XMP as well as constant temperature monitoring and logging. I was looking for any suggestions on what may cause this. I’ve narrowed it down to the psu not being sufficient. It’s a 750w platinum. 12900 paired with a 3080.(ddr4 on a z690 edge)

These locks only occur during heavy load/while gaming. Temperatures are all nominal. The GPU worked fine with my 9900k. Windows is a fresh install. I’ve ensured bios settings are set properly. At this point I’m highly siding with the fact that I’m pushing my 750w psu too much with the 12900/3080 +4m.2’s,4ssd/hdd’s, 9 fans, 3 rgb/fan hubs.

I work building systems 9-5 but I’m still stumped and too exhausted from work after the day to want to troubleshoot more pc stuff. Though I still want to ask, is there any other potential reason I may be encountering these. Maybe something I can try in the meantime whilst a wait for a new psu?
