Hi guys,

I have intel i5 9400f processor and wants to do decent gaming on 1080P. I don't do gaming much apart from weekends as I work in bank so rarely got time these days. The only GPU I can find in my country under 330$ is GTX16504GB OC edition. I just want to ask one thing, should I buy this one? is it future proof card for 1080p (For games like Eden ring) ? or should I wait for price drop ?

BTW I am from Pakistan and the only decent GPU i can find is this one. If someone can suggest a good GPU under 350$(NEW) from USA then please suggest as my brother is in USA and get me one during his visit here.

Thanks for you valuable time :)

@Hashim19: That card does look to exceed the minimum requirements, so you should be good to go for Elden Ring 👍😎

@mrbojangles25: seems like this card would be fine for next gen but under 1080p-Medium settings.

@Hashim19: I have this card and an i5 10400f, and am pretty happy with it. It will play just about anything out right now at 1080p, you just may have to use mid to low settings for the most demanding games. And as @mrbojangles25: pointed out, it will play Elden Ring. Plus, this is the best card you are going to find under $400 right now, even in the USA.

That said, if you look out a few years from now, a 1650 may not cut it once developers move away from last gen consoles. So, if you're mostly going to play older games, I say go for it. But if you want to keep playing new games for the next few years, I'd wait for the global chip shortage to get back under control. If prices ever stabilize, an RTX 3060 should theoretically be about $400. Or at the very least, wait for a GTX 1660 to come down to that price.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

@Hashim19: I have the most basic model, came in an OEM. HP Envy TE01. Uses a proprietary motherboard with some hilariously barebones BIOS. No overclocking for me. It's OK, I knew what I was getting into. Got it for $500, figured I could live with the shortcomings for that price. I mostly play older games that were on sale cheap, and it can handle that just fine.

Look, I like the 1650 a lot. It's a beast when you consider it only uses 75 watts of power. I think you would be happy with it. My only concern is system requrements are going to jump once developers stop making games for last gen consoles, and I don't know for sure how high they will go.

There're plenty of non demanding games out there, don't expect to max out triple A titles, if you can hit medium graphics with stable 60fps you should be fine since there isn't much difference between medium and max - just don't go to low graphics - it's like playing on PS3.
