I've grabbed what I can.
- RTX 3060 - in the server computer. Can double as a gaming system if needed. Retired my 980Ti from this system and sold it for $300
- RTX 3060Ti - Retired my 980Ti from my main gaming rig and sold it for $300. Used this 3060Ti for about 2 months before upgrading. Probably keep it as a backup/spare GPU, just in case. You can never be too careful these days.
- RTX 3080 - this is what I'm gaming on now.
- RTX 3060Ti - (different one from above), putting in my kid's gaming rig
- RTX 3070Ti - shipping in sometime this week. Still pondering if I should gift it to my brother and sell off his 5700XT for about a grand or just outright sell this one.
EVGA queue and newegg shuffle (GPUs only, no combo deals) has been good to me. Along with a random visit to my local Micro Center where I was able to purchase one of the 3060Ti because they had stock in the middle of the afternoon still, from their morning delivery (I was hoping a 3070 or 3080, but they had sold the last ones just before I got there and I wasn't looking to spend the money on a 3080Ti or 3090).
Any new GPU and highly sought after CPUs will be hard to come by. If you're hoping to land a Nvidia 4xxx series or AMD 7xxx series, don't hold your breath. They'll fly off the shelves just like this generation has. Folks will be looking to scalp and mine.
A non-GPU related purchase (I guess it could be considered a GPU related since it does use a GPU) that I just got was an Xbox Series X. Splitting the cost (which, by the way, I got at retail price) with my younger brother and we're giving it to my kids for a Christmas present from him and I when he comes up to visit in a week or two.
I've had good lucky with this current gen as of lately. Keep at it and you'll eventually find something worthwhile for your needs.
As for 4k gaming, I think it's overrated. I'm enjoying 1440p at a high refresh rate of 120hz. So much better over 1080p at 60hz.
