Gears of War 4 PC Benchmarks Released - Good PC Version

And here are the benchmarks for Insane Settings. INSANE SETTINGS. These settings were developed for FUTURE GPUS and/or High-End Multi-GPUs.

Don't start calling it "Unoptimized POS game" because you can't run Insane on your mainstream single GPU.

Game looks a bit one-dimensional. Waiting for reviews. Glad to hear it's well-optimized, though.

Wow. That drop off from GTX 1080 at 1080p/90fps to 1440p/49fps truly is insane. They certainly named it right.

On insane, they are using Circle Depth of Field. Which is a new, higher quality, style of Depth of Field that hasn't been used yet in a full game. And they are using an insane amount of screen space reflections.

Those two things are pretty much why Insane is so demanding.

I'm getting it on the XONE so I don't have to worry about any of this. I just want to play it...

Except it doesn't have true crossplay between PC and XB1 like Forza Horizon 3 does.

If I were buying a new computer now I'd get a flagship Nvidia card and a 1440p screen.

... Great frames rates, great definition and way more future-proofed than 4k.

Just got done playing 4 hours of the game and IT IS REALLY GOOD!!

What caught me by surprised is how good the game feels with keyboard and mouse. With Gears of War and Gears UE, I used a controller on the PC versions because it felt more natural and it didn't seem to hinder my performance online.

But with Gears of War 4? Keyboard and Mouse reigns supreme. Movements are super fluid with the keyboard. I can wall bounce with ease.

Performance is also top notch and it remained hiccup-less. Just don't mess with the Insane settings.

If you are a Gears fan or like shooters in general, don't be afraid to buy the game. It is well worth.

Yeah seems like MS is stepping up the pace.

The games that have been longer in development for PC, forza horizon and Gears 4, seem to perfrom way better than previous ports.

It was a Nvidia Code, they're cheap in the first few days of their release on Steam Gifts, you can find a reputable trader there and done !

I almost bought this, but the lackluster campaign changed my mind. Gears is imo all about the campaign; with BF1, Titanfall 2, and other titles soon to be here there is no reason to anchor myself to Gears multiplayer, something I never really enjoyed (coop was fun, tho)

i bought the game from here, i searched for Gears of War 4 and the deals were there....i selected a trader with high reps, added him to Steam then we did the transaction.

Actually, Forza Horizon 3 is very broken. Crashes and huge performance issues for many people. Almost Arkham Knight level of bad.

It's good that we are getting these games on PC but people would be lost with the story wouldn't they? We only had part 1 on PC and this is like the 4th/5th game in the series.

I'm having no luck finding a Gears of War 4 Nvidia key for $25

I picked it up, game runs fantastic at 1440p on a 970, campaign sucks but the MP is the best it has ever been having a blast, host advantage seems to be gone and gunplay/movement has never been better

I'm hearing all kinds of stories from this game. From great PC version to totally broken :/

There really isn't much story, at least from what I can tell having finished Gears1&2.

Plus this takes place many years after the last gears, so it can be kinda seen like a reboot ?

Are there many people playing this online ? i.e. do you find lots of servers to play on/people to play with ?

^^^ Yes its easy to find games right now, and we are only on early release for those of us that got the ultimate edition, when the game releases next week its will be packed.

I'll definitely pick this up on a sale. Not paying $60 though without a decent single player campaign.

I think the reason for no PC Vs Xbox One play in versus modes is because there would be a large skill difference between players. I remember another game tried this I forgot which one and the PC Players would dominate. I think it was Shadowrun for Xbox 360.

Game is BAF (Blurry As ****). They need an option to disable AA.

You might want to check your settings. My game is crisp and clear at 3440 x 1440 and I'm one to complain about any sort of blur.

Make sure you have dynamic resolution off and increase the temporal sharpening.

You shouldn't need to increase the temporal sharpening to offset a problem that is caused by the Post AA in the first place. Just let me disable the AA all together. Post sharpening does not look as good as not having to use it in the first place. It's part of a shitty trend with developers that get caught up in all the bullshit effects and post-processing. You should have an option to disable anything that makes the image blurry. Shit like shader based AA and Chromatic Aberration have become a huge problem.

I'm running 1070's sli. I know just 1 card is used for now.

What's weird, is my performance is WAY higher than these benches show. Maybe it's because I have AA set to low, but at 4k I'm 50+ most of the time, and 1440 I'm 90-120 most of the time.

These are probably using the internal benchmark, which is pretty much worse case scenario performance.

But making things blurry allows the developer to cover up stuff like bad textures and even bugs, lol....

That would make sense. I've run the benchmark and the game runs way, way better than the numbers in the bench shows. Interesting...it's not even close.

Does anyone know how the split screen is set up on a 21:9 screen ? I already saw 16:9 screenshots where it splits horizontally and has black bars on the sides, which makes me think those black bars would be even bigger on a 21:9 screen. I'm kinda hoping 21:9 would do a vertical split instead, with maybe small black bars on top and bottom.

GTX 1080? Pffft that was so 5 years ago.....
