Does your motherboard handle them all okay?
@warm_gun: A lot. I have multiple USB hubs in addition to the motherboard and case USB ports. Motherboard has no issue handling all of them. Also, one of my USB hubs has individual power buttons for each port. So, I can turn off external HDDs and other devices without having to disconnect them. It is a great feature.
Have desktop speakers, Bluetooth dongle, controller receiver, mouse receiver, keyboard, DAC for headphones, external hard drive(s) when I back up and am waiting for a microphone interface that will take the last USB on the back panel. Well, there will still be the USB 3.2 on the back, but the hubs have short cables, are for laptops.
There is always a small rectangle of white pixels before the BIOS comes up, which I'm confident is related to having so many devices, since the computer used to freeze with more of those pixels on startup before upgrading the PSU.
Yeah, seems to handle them all fine.

You have like a home server setup or something?
I've always been interested in those, but I don't really do anything to justify having one (i.e. like ripping movies or music, downloading books and graphic novels, etc.).
Still it seems really cool.
@mrbojangles25: I don't have a dedicated server, but I access my main PC from both my bedroom and living room. So, I can use wired/wireless peripherals from either room. I have several HDDs for backup and media storage. I have a large content library of movies and music on the external HDDs and all my games are on the SSDs.
I never noticed any issues with USB ports. I have mouse, keyboard, wireless mouse, bluetooth thingy for the other keyboard, those are on the back and there's headset on the front.
4 altogether. Mouse, Keyboard, A usb C cable for controllers and a Micro USB cable for connecting my Funkey S.
...Technically 5 if i was to be pedantic. The bluetooth in my mobo is technically a USB device.
I have 1 Type A and 1 Type C port free on the back and 2 USB 3 Type As and 1 Type C free on the front.
I have an AM4 system (5800X and MSI B550 Gaming edge Wifi) and I initially thought I was having the USB devices disappearing issue that was a thing when the Ryzen 5000 series launched. My Mouse (Razer Deathadder V2) would sometimes switch off while the PC was booting. But, on further investigation, this like more like a mouse issue rather than the AMD USB port issue. Bios and mouse firmware are up to date but that didn't fix it. It happens fairly rarely though so not a huge deal. Restarting the computer fixes it.
Keyboard cut in and out again. Screw Bluetooth. I had already connected the audio interface with an old 32 foot "active" USB cable I had, allowing me to place the mic right by the chair from which I watch movies and play video games, so all I had to do was connect the USB hub. My voice still comes through okay and my keyboard is faster than it was wireless. Will just plug it in each time I move it from table to table. The only other Bluetooth device I have now is the M30 Mega Drive controller. Mouse and other controller have their own dongles.
