RDNA3 is rumored to be about 2,5-3x the tflops alwell 60tflops about that.

If true 8k gaming is real.

I kinda hope they wait for the world to get it's shit back in order before releasing these. Also, where the hell is the desktop 3050?

Budget/mid range gamer is gone buddy. Long term PC gaming will shrink, but Nvidia/AMD will still make more profit doing what they are doing.

what is the point of 75-95 teraflops? games on the 10.28 and 12 teraflops is just amazing.

I don't see games catching up to 75 teraflops anytime soon.

most games will be made around the two new consoles so I think its a waste to have that many teraflops lol.

@Random_Matt: I'd say APUs are the future of low-end gaming, but there is already a laptop 3050 out there. A desktop version of that would still be a big jump up from a 5700g. And the gtx 1650 still had a high adoption rate despite enthusiasts shitting all over it.

They need to slow down a bit with this stuff. And stop making like ten versions.

We still have crypto-miners and COVID to deal with. There is zero reason for GPU's to cost as much as they do. Five years ago the only cards going for 1000+ were crazy ass Nvidia Titan's or whatever.

What about mid-range? Seems like the middle-ground has evaporated.

@gifford38: yes...and dont tell the pc gamers, but the human eye can't tell the difference between 2k and 4k resolution anyway. I wonder how pc gaming will evolve now that resolution is pointless.

Potentially, look at the M1 Max. I would be surprised if that was not a direction everyone went in. But AMD already make console chips, why not release that as a PC part?

1440p to 2160p is quite noticeable.

Anything for the mid-range. At this point I think I will stick with my 1070 gtx. Not really worth the money to upgrade my PC at this rate.

@Maroxad: only if you have a huge TV you can but on a small monitor not so much.

4k is awesome but to have 75 teraflops just seems like a waste at this time. Maybe years from now.

I will gladly take 75 TFLOPS. 4K/120fps Ultra is not easy to achieve.

I thought we we're getting the "Super" variants according to rumors around January/February 2022?

But of course, if the RTX 40XX is said to believing it'll release late 2022, no point in anyone buying the Supers.

@davillain-: The Super variants are generally a waste as they release shortly before the new generation of cards.

Unless the prices at launch are already increased by 20-30% here then I'll order one right away.

I JUST scored a RTX 3070 TI yesterday.. I'd like to wait for the new series but I don't even know if I'd be able to get my hands on a 40 series on release. It took me 6 months of hunting just to catch this 3070..

Congrats. As long as u got it for a good price, then it is worth it to get it now. Best to avoid any further shit show of hunting down cards. You can always sell your 3070 Ti after if u want anyway.

Thanks, It took some patience and persistence to get it. I wasn't having any luck with Newegg shuffle, especially since the bundle it with something else you most likely wouldn't need, but I happened to look on best buy and found some going quick. I'm going to keep it since I don't know when another opportunity will arise to get another one.

Mining. Thankfully the XSX and PS5 have not been cracked...yet. if they were...if you think the console shortages are bad now....man it would be ugly.

The PS5 and XSX would be quite respectable mining systems (especially at MSRP or even current scalper prices). at its MSRP the XSS may be pretty solid too.

I do wonder what the contract between the console makers (and valve now of course) and AMD is. traditionally the console manufacturer would own the tech in the console but i doubt that's the case now. but could AMD manufacture and sell, e.g., extra PS5 SOCs, attach them to a different mobo and sell them themselves (not as a PS5 of course)?

would AMD be able to take the SOC in the deck and make it available to AYA and GPD or would they need valves blessing?

I just bought a founders 3070 from Best Buy for MSRP. Usually I would never do this so close to the next product reveal, but I‘m spooked by how crazy the 3000 launch was. Should I keep the 3070 or nah?

Yup, straight off the factory in China into the hands of chinese miners. Rinse and repeat. This is gonna be such a boring ass paper launch again. Wake me up when you can find a single one in stores 2 years later. ZzzZZZz

Keep. The founders is a good card with good cooling and no noise in 3070's case.

Yeah, I am not selling my 3080 until I actually have a 4080 (or whatever I end up buying) installed in my rig.
