Hello community,

Recently i got a used MSI geforce 1070 from my brother he used it for mining, Card is in good condtion and working fine in normal use,i was using Asus strix R9-380 4gb. (still have it).

Now come to my question before removing my old card i did benchmarking with RDR2 and i was getting 40 to 50 FPS on balanced setting and around 60 in some places like house.

But,

when i did same thing with GTX 1070 i got really disappointed even in lowest setting i am getting 30FPS. Ive uploaded 3 videos on each setting, you can take a look at suggest me what might be the problem:

> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNOTE8gCKF4 :Balanced setting

> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu6GzdyPcak :Ultra setting

My hardware:

AMD Fx 8320 3.5ghz

Nvidia GTX 1070 8gb

corsair vengeance 16gb DDR3 ram.

MSI 990FXA- GD65 MS-7640.

Any suggestion would be appreciated

Uninstall all the GPU drivers from your system (AMD and Nvidia) with Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). Then install the new Nvidia drivers again. That should fix your issue.

Like BassMan said It looks like a driver issue.

Uninstall ALL AMD drivers, restart the PC... Install the latest Nvidia Drivers and restart the PC again. Then try it.

@BassMan: Thank you for your response, i did exactly how it need to be done and it worked, now i am getting 35- 40 FPS on balanced setting, which is using 4.3gb of my card and performance is little smoother now.

Now i guess its my AMD FX 8320 processor, which is bottle necking my GPU, Next month i will buy ryzen 5 3600 and lets see how much performance boost i will get, i hope its worth it.

@Grey_Eyed_Elf Yes i did and it worked, thank you for your reply :)

Glad we could help. What is your GPU usage now? Is it always maxed out? It should always be maxed out if you are playing with an unlocked frame rate. If it is not maxed out, then you may be getting a CPU bottleneck on a single or multiple CPU cores. Regardless, a new CPU will be highly beneficial for your system overall.

@BassMan: Yes you are right,
GPU its always on 100% and temp around 65%
And my cpu always stick to 50% - 55% and temperature is around 50.
