So, Im trying to run an older game from the early 2000s on a windows 10 PC
when launching the game it say "you need a processor with mmx capabilities to run this game"
is there anything I can do to get this running?
Tried DosBox? if that doesnt help you might need legacy hardware and even then old DOS games are not problem free as they are very sensitive with cpu speeds
probably Cabela's 4x4 off road adventure. i got it to run in pcem but it ran horribly. we are looking for a long term solution. I've tried so many things, running it in Linux using wine, using Virtualbox, none work except a straight up mmx emulator like pcem. The problem is that the Ryzen 5 I have in my pc supports mmx. I've ran many checks to prove it, so I really don't get why the program continues to pop the message up. The only thing I can think of would be to disable the check that the EXE executes, but that involves binary, and I don't know where the key in that program is for such a check.
