Clements in actuality got a 6 year, 43.5 million dollar contract.
The last 2 years pay him 36.5 million. He will NOT see those years. In the first 6 years he makes 7.25 per, along with a 22 mil bonus.
Just remember, the 80 mil is not the real contract.
Im dissapointed we didnt sign adalius thomas. Maybe joey porter will be a niner? Hes had a more consistent career but he had a down year last year.
I cant say much about michael lewis. He had a down year as well but he was a probowler a few years ago. I need to see financial details.

Yeah, but its a lot of funny money in years 7 and 8. He will earn 36.5 million in the last 2 years. He will never see that much $. He earns about 7.25 per for the first 6 years.
[QUOTE="familyguy77"]I wanted the Eagles to keep Michael Lewis:( I think he's better than Sean Considine(Especially at tackling)raghavan
As an eagles fan, what can you tell me about michael lewis?
I like him alot, and think he's a pretty solid safety. He struggled in coverage last year, but he's a hard hitter and a really good tackler. I think the Niners got one hell of a safety, considering he's still kinda young and he's been a pro bowl safety before. If he fixes some of his coverage problems next year this could be a great signing.
Silly money, I wouldn't class Clements as a top 5 cornerback yet he demands number 1 money. Hopefully he won't see out the last two years of his contract or else the 49ers will be financially crippled.nickmag
I agree 100 percent hes not a top 5 cornerback in this league hes not Champ Baily and hes not Ty Law. Asante Samuel is going to go crazy after seeing this but I know and we all know hes not as good as Clements he just had a great year but theres still so much for him to learn yet and besides the only reason hes our number one is because we have no elite corner.
its a good contract for the niners. niners using the nfl system to the fullestkingrich06what are you serious:| it wasn't a good contract the CB didnt diserve that much
Kind of feels like what the Redskins did last year just sign the best players available and that didnt exactly translate to well.

Yup its backloaded as will be Adalius Thomas' contract with the Patriots. Still 7.25 is pretty good.[QUOTE="nickmag"]Silly money, I wouldn't class Clements as a top 5 cornerback yet he demands number 1 money. Yea sorry I guess I just keep reminiscing about Ty Law when he was a Patriot but theres still better corners out there in my opinion.PatsFanVince
