Poll Did you buy a PlayStation Portal? (67 votes)
So, yay, nay, maybaaaay?

Why no option for “No and I never intend to”?
That’s my choice right there.
That would fall under "Totally not"
No, I don't see the point of jt.
I've already got a Switch and a Steamdeck for when my kid is asleep, and the PS5's exclusive lineup is so thin that I'll never play the Portal.
I didn't just buy one, I'm legit shilling it to all my friends. It's an amazing handheld
I went from “maybe I’ll return this” before getting it, to “damn, I’m keeping this!” And telling my friends lol.

But where is the option for "I already have one via my phone/tablet" option?
@last_lap: Only want one TV in house,
Interesting strategy. Is that because modern people just use their mobile device way more in the house vs an actual TV set?
I would never pay more than $99 canadian for something this barebrones.
I said they would've had me day 1 at $149 for it.
@Chutebox: Only 1 TV in your house, geez. I have 5 (1 in each bedroom and 1 in the loungeroom) and a couple in storage in the shed in case of an emergency lol.
I never got into handheld gaming, well that's a little bit of a lie as I did own a heap of Game & Watches back in the day. I just couldn't do it today as the screen is so small.
I had one preordered but canceled it. I bought some PC parts instead. I’ll keep an eye on them for a few months and grab one when it makes sense. I have 2 PS5s in the house and could make use of the device. There’s just not any games on the console that makes this streaming only device a must have right now.
@nod_calypse: Playstation Portal is the reason you Playstation fanboys are called COWS.
You could spend $10 and buy a clip for your dual sense abd USE THE FREE PLAYSTATION APP and get the same experience.
Did I say "same"? Sorry, I meant BETTER. Why better? Because the Portal has no web browser, and your phone does. Why is that important? Because you can't get on any networks without signing on via a browser! You can't play at Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds, a hotel room, etc WITHOUT a browser to sign in.
So, to "play on the go" you have to (dum dum duuuum) TETHER TO YOUR PHONE! You could have just spent $10 on the dual sense clip for your phone and used the app.
It doesn't even have PS Cloud support. You can't even use native Bluetooth- it will only work with Sony blue tooth devices.
So, Congratulations, Sony Fans! You just got milked for $190!!! Rejoice!
@nod_calypse: lmao 🤣
Anyways, ain't nobody got time for sonys e-waste. Only the cows do, and the dedicated cows.

Oh please. It’s an optional accessory to be able to play your ps5 in bed or on the shitter while your family is using the main tv. that’s the extent of it - optional accessory.
imagine paying for 3 years of gamepass waiting for 7field and Redfail lol. That’s the real milking bro
@last_lap: Just to play in general. Only want one TV in house, so kids take that up when they are allowed to play. Now I can play mature games they don't need to be seeing in the same room.
That's not a bad idea actually. Damn kids ruin so much!
No, but somebody did seeing as though they are selling well for whatever reason...
I showed my coworker today who is in his 40s and has 3 children and he think it’s perfect for someone like him who doesn’t get to play on the TV much. Somehow Sony found a hidden market for this thing lol. He was also surprised by how good the hardware is.
@WitIsWisdom: some of the sales are scalpers. It didn't sell out on the Playstation store until a few hours before release. Now there's a bunch on ebay for $400+.
I'm not saying it won't sell because it does have its market. I am the market. It's just not for me right now. Not at the current price at least. At $149 I would've got one. I enjoy playing in handheld anymore. It fits my lifestyle with my daughter and wife watching tv.

It's funny how all of a sudden people only have 1 tv in their house and need this thing🤣
And funnily enough this was in my YT feed today so I thought I would share it with you, enjoy 😁

It's pretty fucking funny that Sony fans praise a many years later and worse Wii U controller for 200 bucks.
