Games locked away on old consoles that desperately need ports

Allow me to begin the festivities:

Kid Icarus Uprising

God Hand

Shadow of Rome

Sin and Punishment 2

Metal Gear Solid 4

A bunch of them. Straight ports, or just put them up on the digital shops: Steam, eshop, psn, marketplace etc.

So many. But emu.

Xenoblade chronicles X. i dont know why this hasnt been done yet. a great game relegated to a very very niche system (there were a few of us :P).

Agreed on Kid icarus uprising and it needs a sequel. i dont know why nintendo have left it idle.

Metroid Prime trilogy without motion controls.

Metroid as a franchise. Its not being locked away by an old console. Its being locked away by ancient tech. Metroid deserves more than that ugly 2d looking thing. #FreeMetroid.

Tetrisphere, one of my favorite N64 games that never got a re-release.

A few years ago I would have said Panzer Dragoon Orta, maybe my favorite of them, but that got a X enhancement via XB1X BC, and made available again through digital BC.

Sega keeps recycling the Genesis Collection, each iteration seems to lose something, they need to add to it. They also need to broaden these collections. How about a Sega CD collection? How about an extensive collection of Sega's arcade games?

So many games come to mind but one you never hear about is Gladius.. man that game was awesome. It needs not only a remaster/remake, but also a new game in the franchise.

I don't want ports, but being able to play the NES and SNES games you want, instead of Nintendo picking out some kind of crap for you that you don't want, would be nice. Would also enjoy being able to play GB, GBC, GBA, GC and Wii games on Switch. But Nintendo thinks it's better if I just emulate those games for free instead of giving them money.

@lamprey263: I'd love a Sega Master System Collection or what you mentioned a Sega Arcade Collection, I'd buy both day one!!!

Sad thing is Sega was asked in an interview (I can't remember where) if they'd ever release their arcade games and they said they've lost most of the code for them. :(

I was just thinking about how awesome SSX was the other day. Still can't believe either a game like them hasn't been created, or that they haven't re-released the old ones.

I'd say 1/4 of the PS2 library are excellent lost games only available on that console. From .Hack to the Xenosaga trilogy. Even Tenchu Wrath of Heaven would be an instant buy for me, but as far as one game above all that a new generation of gamers NEEDS to play, I'd pick Skies of Arcadia Legends.

Good to see the love for Simpsons hit and run why hasn't there been a new game in the series.

Twisted Metal black.

Infamous 1 in is almost unplayable b/c of its frame rate, it's a little surprising they didn't give it a PS4 collection.

There are a whole bunch of PS2 racers I'd like to see rereleased. The Motorstorm games would also make a nice collection running at 60fps.

Star Ocean 3 Til the End of Time badly needs something between a remake and a remaster. That game could have been almost as good as Second Story, but flaws like the dearth of savepoints, battle trophies, and the crafting system need to be overhauled, and a few other QOL improvements at least need to be made to any rerelease.

If TriAce/Square was able to add improvements for the PSP Second Evolution, I don’t see why they can’t do the same for TtEoT

But there are plenty of Simpsons games locked away on consoles.

I would like to see all Sony first party PS3 titles at least BC on the PS5. In addition to orig Xbox games like Otogi and JSRF.

Star Wars: Battle for Naboo (another F5 Star Wars game)

Star Wars: Starfighter (though PC version of the original is playable and Jedi Starfighter is Backwards compatible on XBOX ONE)

Gauntlet Legends/Dark Legacy

Many James Bond games (GE, Nightfire, Everything or Nothing, From Russia with Love)

SoulCalibur IV and V (hoping Bandai Namco reaches a deal with Disney/Lucasfilm and Ubisoft respectively)

Many Capcom vs games (though we recently got SNK vs Capcom: Match of the Millennium on the Switch)

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3

Somewhat related is Heavy Metal: Geomatrix. In fact Capcom seriously needs to bring back all their arcade games of the era that only ever got Dreamcast ports. Project Justice (Rival Schools), Tech Romancer, Star Gladiator, Giga Wing, Mars Matrix, Canon Spike.

Federation Force was when Nintendo was trolling Metroid fans. Dread is them trying, but with a $10 budget, cuz you know, they don't invest in anything else but Zelda, Mario and Pokemon.
