Nintendo was ranked as the worst tech company in terms of social responsibility

As a Nintendo fan I was very disapointed to learn that Nintendo sources minerals from suppliers in conflict zones in the Congo and refuses to acknowledge this or take steps to rectify the issue. And that based on rankings from raisehopeforthecongo.org Nintendo is the lowest rated tech company in terms of social responsibility.

I know that lots of people don't care too much about how socially responsible a company is but I think its a big deal and this is making me look at Nintendo in a different light.

Deplorable. They are DIRECTLY contributing to the millions of deaths there.

I'm not happy to see some of these other companies so low on that list either. I'm not buying Canon, HTC or Nintendo anything now.

I was sure I was going to buy the WiiU as my only next gen cosnole, so now that's gone to hell.

Can't say I care.

But to fan the fires of System Wars, by their rating, Microsoft > Sony > Nintendo.

Are you going to boycott the other companies that are in the red and yellow area? While I hope that these companies do make an effort to be socially conscious. this won't affect my buying.

In 2006 or so, Greenpeace rated Nintendo as the most environmentally damaging company for using nondegradable components in the Wii. Suprising to me, they claimed that Sony went to great lengths to make the PS3 as environmentally friendly as possible.

I was talking about the fat ones.

At least Nintendo thinks a lot about the environment. They don't provide enough games to create any significant use of power and the resulting greenhouse gas emissions.
