Congrats to Capcom on this amazing milestone and I just reinstalled RE4 Remake 3 days ago cause I just love the game. Probably my favorite RE game yet besides RE Village.

I'll say this, if RE5 gets the Remake treatment before CV, then we at least won't see a CV Remake for a decade or longer😔

@davillain: Code Veronica doesn't need to be remade just like the previous titles before it didn't either.

For Me Code Veronica is the best Resident Evil game, remaking it is pointless.

Didn't need a remake, was already modern and pretty cinematic, and getting one anyway opens it up to unfavorable comparisons. Characters say things differently just for the sake of it, even though the writing and delivery of the line were right the first time. Cutscenes are like this too. Different just for the sake of it, even though the camerawork and choreography were right the first time. Will keep waiting for a bigger discount. No rush at all.

It was good. As for where it fits on my best RE games list..

From what I've played:

1. RE4 (original) (9/10)
2. RE2 Remake (9/10)
3. RE4 Remake (7/10)
4. RE5 (7/10)
5. Revelations (7/10)
6. RE8 (4/10)

Had I played RE Remake, that would most likely be top 3 pushing RE4R down to #4.

Conisdering the sales of RE4R and them updating RE8 into 3rd person, not so sure. But I'm not a weird japanese company..

Seriously though, I haven't played the original RE2, so RE2R felt fresh to me, and I loved it. Had I played the original, my list might've looked different. RE4R is a remake for full new game price (strike one) that updates the game in a good way, but never manage to be better than the original, and worse in quite a few places (strike two). I could in other words live without the existence of RE4R no problem. Doesn't deserve more than a 7.

It is better than original. the movement better, the combat better, even atmosphere better.

It definitely isn't. I played the original shortly before the remake was released. You refused the whole original because you couldn't move while shooting, lol. I wouldn't listen to you about anything regarding games.

@Litchie: I somewhat agree on that take, because it's hard to say that re4r is better than re4 in a meaningful way and I also agree that if I didn't play the og so many damn times, then I'd probably have a higher opinion of re4r. But to call the remake a 7/10, 🤣...that's just trolling, almost as bad as hardwenzen and that 🤡 is the biggest troll on this board.

You and many others seem to be under the impression that 7/10 is a bad score. To the point you think I troll when I give a game I like a 7/10. To me, this is fucking weird and just goes to show how many games are being overrated.

No, but i wouldn't be surprised if they're stupid enough to go back to first person for some unknown reason. RE doesn't feel like RE when its in first person and i hate it.

Still have the og in my backlog but want to pick up the remake and play that heard they took out a lot of the fluff and it'such better.

That makes it the fastest-selling RE game. The previous fastest-seller RE2 remake sold 5.8 million in its first year.

RE2 remake went on to become the best-selling RE game with 13.6M sales. RE4 remake should surpass that eventually.

@last_lap: playing res4 and 8 on psvr2 is just awesome. 100x more scary. That feeling you need to reload your weapons in real-time is on the edge feeling. But on TV yes 3rd person is the best. But res7 on psvr1 was awesome as well. Wish they upgrade it to psvr2.

Wish everyone can at least experience just once.

I'd say in pretty much everyway that I can think. From the parrying mechanics, length of the game, weapons, locations, storyline, obviously the graphics are better, since Res 4 remake came out a few years after Res 2 remake and the enemies etc.
