yes its no Resident evil 4 or even Alan wake 2. it does have problems. but its definitely one of the better game to come out this year.
being made by new developers and choose to make creative and challenging SP FPS/immersive sim is genious. of course its no better or even as good as Metro or STALKER but still its great game.
so friends, this is not GOTY or anything. it will be RE4 by far unless Alan wake 2 surpass it.

Alan Wake 2 is no standard to go by. It’s looking to be a woke dumpster fire.

Haven't felt any game in 2023 to be underrated. Think many are overrated though.
Starfield feels like a 6/10.
RE4 Remake is a 7/10.
Lies of P feels like a 6/10.
Diablo 4, 6/10.
Wo Long, 7/10.
Armored Core 6, 6/10.
Seems like a lot of people this year forgot what a good game is. Weird.
Odd. Maybe you should check out self awareness. Your list of scores are 💩
RE4 R is 10/10 game. best TPS action game in long time. that is not movie game.
lol. Well, I don't dismiss good games because of colors. That'd be stupid.
Every game is definitely not shit. I give RE4R a 7/10 for "good".
Blasphemous 2 is easily an 8/10.
of course every game is except childish nintendo rehashes.
you seem to criticize every game.
I definitely do, even Nintendo games.
You need to be less sensitive. We both like RE4R, we both think it's a good game. You seem to think it's this 10/10 masterpiece game of all games, and that's just insane to me. When I tell you this, you get salty and act like I hate the game.
Saying one game is better than another when there's only a point difference, seems as useless to me as when the weatherman says it's 70 outside, but it feels like 71. Lol. I like how ACG rates: Buy, wait, never touch, deep sale. Lol
Atomic Heart looked decent. I never got around to buying it, mostly because it seems like a heavily, sexualized game. :/ Maybe it's not like that, but as a recovering addict, I can't afford to play it.
Would say Hi-fi Rush myself. Not in terms of scores but a game released with no hype in January won't be at the forefront of people's minds in November / December. It'll get lost in the Zelda Spider Man Starfield Baldy Gate shuffle mainly due to the month in which it released.
Baten Kaitos. Kinda cheating since it's master, but those games were hugely underrated on release, I liked them way more than Skies of Archadia and Tales of Symphonia. And judging by the marketing the remasters got, they will continue to be underrated now.
@Litchie: How does it compare with the first? Blasphemous 2 I mean. Loved the first.
Only 9 hours in so far, but it's been pretty freaking sweet. At least on par with the first, I'd say. Don't want to spoil anything for you, but they've built upon what was great with the first in neat ways. More gameplay options, better animations. Really good OST.
Atomic Heart launched rough and took months to even just half-ass patch its numerous issues. While I still enjoyed it immensely, I can't say playing it wasn't also very frustrating. Best part about it were the boss fights, but those were few and far between, and the gameplay in between not nearly as exciting. This game would have worked out better as a scripted linear shooter as the set piece designs and scripted moments of some of the stages are very stylishly done.
Its dlc came out, and its like nobody even noticed🤣
thats why I called underrated.
I'd call it pointless, unnoticeable, forgettable. Reminds me of Callisto, Redfall and Starfield.
starfield is mostt talked game.
underraated is game is overshadowed. Atomic heart is not even AAA game. or even got hype like those. even many gamers dont even know it exist at all. its indie game.
Easily DC Dual Force. Sure, it's still in PC only beta and hasn't dropped on mobile devices yet, but no Odyssey talks about the game when Marvel Snap won goty.
I like both games about equally for different reasons.
Only underrated when compared to how much you hyped it. Otherwise, it looked like a middle of the road Metro type experience.
That's exactly what it is.
Anyway for me, not so much underrated (it scored pretty well) but an underappreciated game, is Dredge. It's such a fantastic experience & up there as a potential GOTY for me.
@Litchie: Geez dude you're being a bit of a Debbie Downer in here.
If you want to play an underrated game you should try Remnant 2. It will turn that frown upside down.
Basically Remnant 2 is the most underrated game this year. It's better than all of those games you mentioned.
Can't like all games, especially not soulless crap. I have a lot of good games to play, no need to play whatever media tells me I should.
Not sure about Remnant 2. The first one got boring for me pretty fast. Boring level design (basically no exploration), boring story, bland NPCs, no puzzle solving or anything to break off the repetitive/stale gameplay or many armors or weapons to shake things up with. The sequel looks to be more of the same, albeit some more variety at least. Those things coupled with that I have no friends to play it with will most likely make me skip it.

Remnant 2 has made exploration a bigger feature, you can climb to ledges above to traverse, paths that lead you underground etc.
There are puzzles in the game, some you need to proceed with a lot leading to secret Weapons/Amulets/Rings/Dragon Hearts etc.
The story I don't really care about, and the NPC's are serviceable, Remnant is not for you if you're the kind of person who wants teh feelz.
At present I have 18 main weapons, 16 side arms, 26 melee weapons. A ton of armour sets (at least a dozen) 44 Amulets, 113 Rings, 11/12 Archetypes, 29 traits. So basically there is a shit ton of things to find.
Out of curiosity what would you say is the top 5 games you've played this year?

Sounds pretty nice actually, thanks for the info. Yeah no, story I don't give much of a shit about, so not sure why I even mentioned it. Can get annoyed if its extra shit, but that's about it, lol.
Top 5 games I played this year? Probably something like:
Blasphemous 2 Zelda: TotK Streets of Rage 4 Monster Hunter Rise Quake II
Eventhough I would like to emphasise the insane art style, graphics that will push any system, solid attempt at a Bioshock game, unique powers you can wield etc...
I would instead take this time to talk about Atomic Heart's biggest fault:
The combat isn't balanced, and eventhough they could have adressed this during the release of the first DLC: I felt it was balanced even worse there.
Let me go into greater detail:
The game likes throwing a lot of enemies on screen - and at you - but it also feels like the combat was designed around spending a lot of time chipping away at one single enemy.
Now this doesn't fully work, in the end you feel like you have to spend way more ammo, and heal up way too much during any single fight. I believe I know the reason for this inbalance and that is that the developers wanted to show off their cool dynamic destruction system on every single enemy (that or the developers are masochists).
The solution for the issue is simple too: make guns more powerful, make ammo a bit harder to come by, make enemies take less damage.
Luckily there are mods on PC and for the DLC I hooked in a trainer that gave me 1.25x damage, which makes the game a lot more fun to play. It makes the game feel balanced and how it should play. Making the player fall to the ground so often and making his guns feel weak doesn't really do this game any justice.
@Litchie: Remnant 2 has just expanded on everything from the first game. Oh and for the most part they got rid of the mods during boss fights which most people found annoying.
It's always nice to see people put SoR4 on their lists. Most people play it once, beat it and move on, they don't really understand the replayability of the game (much like the Remnant games) I'm hoping for Streets 5.
@last_lap: S-ranked the crap out of it and still don't feel like I'm fully done with it. It was already awesome, then they went and added more characters, more moves and a new mode. SoR5 would be day 1.

I stopped playing it when they changed the combo system (scoring) on Xbox to match that of the Switch/PC/PS4 version. I didn't like the scoring system after that.
