Wow, just one more week until Forbidden West comes out! This weekend I'll try to put some more time into Shin Megami V. Just reached the Castle which I heard is confusing to go through. Other than that, would like to play some Guardians of the Galaxy and possibly finish it. And then there's Olli Olli World which is the perfect pick up and play type of game. What about you, SW? What are you playing this weekend?
Still Total War: Warhammer II, in anticipation of the third game releasing next week. After rage-quitting about half a dozen times, I finally figured out how to play Avelorn. Won both the Mortal Empires and Vortex campaigns with them.
And... ...I feel kind of conflicted. In a fun way.
You see, Avelorn is led by this lovely lady here:
In the lore, she's supposed to be this incorruptible pure goodness, such that flowers literally bloom where her feet touches the ground. She is the avatar of the Elven goddess of nature, after all.
But the way I played her in the game in order to win, she was more like Michael Corleone, Doctor Doom, Emperor Palpatine and other archetypal master manipulator villains, ruthlessly playing everyone like pawns so she could emerge the beneficiary. It's a bit of a clash.
See, the High Elves' thing is they can manipulate diplomatic relationships - and Avelorn's faction bonus even encourages it. And boy did I use it. Right off the bat, I used it to break the alliance between Chrace and Saphery so I could conquer the latter. I then used it to confederate with three other factions - and more importantly, keep them away from Tyrion's mitts. Poor lad. He had no idea I considered him just as much an enemy as Malekith & co. Even funnier that he and Alarielle are supposed to be a couple in the lore. Just three confederations, though; I left the rest as meat shields to handle all the attacks Ulthuan gets from all directions. They get all the fighting and destruction, I get to sip tea and build my armies. Caledor hates me? No problem, I'll just make Tyrion go to war with them so I don't have to watch my south. He confederates with the Elf Batman? Perfect! I'll exploit the confederation penalty to make him go to war with Chrace and Cothique; that should keep him busy and let me have the whole Naggaroth to myself.
Finally, after getting terrifyingly big and wealthy from conquering Naggaroth, and Tyrion refused to confederate with me even after I offered him 100,000 gold, I basically executed my own Order 66. Man, what I would give to see the look on his face, as surprise turns to betrayal and then finally the realisation that he's been played, as my armies moved to crush him. From then on, it was just a matter of wielding my massive income and my giant f***-off army to do whatever I please and conquer anyone that annoys me all the way to victory. Incorruptible pure goodness, everyone.
Incidentally, Tzeentch (the Chaos God of magic, manipulation and conspiracy) will be my first campaign in game 3. Already decided months ago. Honest.
lol nope, still rockin the X1X but that's still okay for now. At some point both XSX and PS5 will have to become readily available, right.... right? :P
Really, until something like the new Forza Motorsports drops which is being made for XSX with no BC, I'm cool.

wait.. you want an XSX and a PS5? 😮
XSX unless you're offering to send me a PS5? lol :P
Just putting them in the same, not so easy to get at MSRP boat.
Actually quite enjoying Rainbow 6 extraction. I use the r6 clubs on the xsx to find players who want to use the mic, and it’s quite good, laidback fun.
Also playing the odd games of Fh5 BR, Halo mp, bf2042 (ugh) and I’m starting the hitman trilogy.
Been playing Octopath Traveler on Xbox via Game Pass. I already played through it on the Switch but am enjoying a second play through of it. Will likely play more of that this weekend.
Have also started playing Bayonetta on Xbox as well with the 10th Anniversary Bundle. Will probably continue playing that as well.
More of Dying Light 2 for me as I'll be too busy killing Zombies over the weekend and what can I say, I love Zombie games...isn't that right Joe😏
Also, I'll trust @goldenelementxl telling me that OlliOlli World so I decided to get it on Steam we'll see what the fuss is all about so I'll play that this weekend as well.
It's backlog clearing time this weekend--gonna start Blasphemous on my way to work today on the Switch, and I got Control and Forza Horizon 5 on the Series X to continue with this weekend.
More monster hunter rise on PC mainly with a bit of Ever oasis on the 3DS.
I really should finish the Neo world ends with you. i really pushed for what i thought was the ending...but it wasn't :(. i dont like finishing games and they have dragged the ending out more than i would have liked. Still a great game though.
...and for gods sake osan: finish BOTW! then the wiiu can be retired.
ps5 nba 2k22 immortal fynix rising skyrim death stranding shenmue 3 xbox series x halo infinite skyrim resident evil 0 hd batman archam city switch xenoblade chronicles louigi mansion 3
my brother in law loves his call of duties, he's lent me cold war to play through the campaign. no idea what to expect, but fancied playing a high budget shooter with solid mechanics, cant even remember the last time i played what i would call pure fps like this, must be years ago
edit: forget it, doesnt install by default, just reading up on the hoops youve got to jump through to download the campaign. sounds nuts

Lol, I was gonna say, SecretPolice getting a PS5? What world are we in!
Sifu. I sucked at the game at first but after watching some Youtube videos I realized that the game doesn't explain it's own mechanics very well. Now that I know how to properly defend myself it is more enjoyable.
Currently trying to beat Ghost n' Goblins, the arcade original. If my controllers survive this, I'm considering Earthbound afterwards. But I still need to finish up a Code Veronica and Link's Awakening DX playthrough too.

how would you rate it so far? watched a stream of it last night and it looked really good. surprised me just how good. bumped it right up my priority list
Yes that is the game I'll be playing most this weekend.
Got a party tomorrow and I've been asked to sort Just Dance for the kids to play and have a couple of drinks I'm pretty sure I'll be showing them how to play.
@dracula_16: It looks fun. Please give some impressions after you've played some, if you don't mind. I'm a bit on the fence.
I just finished Sunshine Valley, which took me about an hour and a half. It's a fun game with a surprising amount of depth. It doesn't take itself too seriously, which I like. There's tons of options when it comes to how your skater looks. Heck, if you're a guy, you can still wear skirts and dresses. It's nice that they gave transgender/genderqueer people a shout out.
But yeah, I'm digging it. It's hard for me unlearn my Tony Hawk tendencies of using the face buttons to do tricks. For flip tricks, you merely use the analog stick. I still have a ways to go before I'm able to do advanced tricks on a regular basis, but that's OK. If you like skateboarding games, you'll probably like OlliOlli World. Don't take my word for it, though; look at all the high scores it's been getting on Metacritic. That's probably not a coincidence; it's a good game.
I got the Switch version, 'cause I like the Switch's Pro controller better than the PS4's controller. Plus, it's an indie game and I like supporting indie developers. Developers don't need a big budget to create a quality game. :)
