What are your top 5 most anticipated games of 2022 as of right now?

2022 is looking to be an amazing year, maybe even better than 2017 😮

My top 5 as of right now are..

5. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope: While not as technical, this streamlined version of XCOM games is fun and charming. The original game was an unexpected hit, and deservedly so.

4. Horizon Forbidden West: I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of the original Horizon. The melee combat and enemy human AI sucks. But man, the world is awesome, and so is fighting big ass robo dinos! I expect big improvements on this one.

3. God of War Ragnarok: the original beat RDR 2 for game of the year, that should already be enough said right there. But if that wasn't enough, the 94 metacritic and just amazing gameplay and story will do it.

2. Breath of the Wild 2: the original is already a classic at this point, but give me better dungeons, boss fights, and more of that Zelda goodness and we will have a masterpiece!

1. Bayonetta 3: I can't believe I may be alive to see this game release. It's been 7 years since the last Bayonetta game came out. I just hope this isn't the last!

1. Total War: Warhammer III - it's more Total War: Warhammer. Nothing more needs to be said.

2. Starfield - can't wait to mod the hell out of this game like every BGS games.

3. Homeworld 3 - it's more Homeworld. Nothing more needs to be said.

4. Songs of Conquest - I'm just starved for a Heroes of Might & Magic style game. I'll take it.

5. Elden Ring - not a big Souls fan, but JFO demonstrated that I'm certainly not done with the genre either. Keeping an eye on this.

1. BotW 2 - The first game is my favorite of all time, so if the sequel is like what Majora's Mask was to OoT, then I'll be very happy.

2. Hollow Knight Silk Song - Unless this game gets magically released in 2021 somehow, then 2022 is a sure thing.

3. Starfield - Skyrim in space. Nuff said.

4. Pokemon Legends: Arceus - Open world and Pokemon, yes please.

5. Hogwarts Legacy - If the devs can pull it off, a game in the world of Harry Potter sounds very appealing to me.

Honorable mentions: Black Myth Wukong, DokeV and TES VI but they seem unlikely for 2022.

Runners up: Starfield & The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Not gonna put Breath of the Wild 2 on the list cause I'm not hype for it nor excited and no idea if its a guaranteed 2022 release so no point of me mentioning it.

Edit: RE4 Remake announcement for 2022 is something I hoping to happen.

Elden Ring, GoW, Horizon, and Zelda.

1) Baldurs gate 3, game is getting better and better with each patch and if it releases in 2022, this will definitely be the game to beat for pc game of the year!

2) GOW2, first was great so definitely looking forward to this!

3) BOTW2, let’s pretend it releases next year!

4) Hogwars legacy, if done right this could definitely be a sleeper hit!

5) suicide squad, kill the justice league! Hell it’s from the devs who made the by far best superhero game we gotten, how can you not be excited! No gameplay footage of it, is a bit worrying though!

Some that I’m hopeful will come out but haven’t been announced to yet are:

For now its only GT7. I only see that game whenever thinking of 2022. I hope they can deliver a great career mode for purist while for me, innovate from the excellent MP mode from GT:Sport.

Oh, also FF16 in June if the playstation ad conspiracy theories is correct.

Horizon 2 is my most anticipated game.

Imagine being excited for Elden Ring when it looks like an early PS3 title.

1. Elden Ring - It will be masterful, evolving the entire open world genre.

2. Sons of The Forest - Speaking about evolving the open world genre, the Forest already did that. Adult Minecraft meets cooperative and challenging survival horror. The sequel will take this to new levels.

3. Stray - I love cats and when I play the gameplay trailer for Stray, my cat jumps up at the TV screen… so I just have to get it. By order of my cat, Artemis. She gets what she wants.

4. GOW:R - I love the added grain the sequel has to it’s graphics. All nine realms as well? It might all just be another tame depiction of Norse mythology and the Æsir might be nothing but chumps and Angrbrodr is clearly too young to be the mother of monsters but oh well, that doesn’t mean it isn’t going to be a blast to play. I just hope the realms are a lot bigger this time around.

5. Suicide Squad kill the JL - I wanna see Rocksteady take their awesome street-level-vigilante gameplay to the next level against such an iconic powerhouse. Actually, I think this game might be a 2023 release.

Other games I’m hyped for next year: Dying Light 2 and Scorn.

If u on mobile platforms u need to change to desktop mode.

Monster Hunter Rise for the PC. More monster Hunter. can't really go wrong there.

GT7: Hopefully the PS5 is more readily available when it comes out. Hopefully GT7 supports VR too.

Baldurs gate 3: i'm waiting for the full game to be finished before buying. I must play the Divinity: Original sin games at some point too.

Total war: Warhammer 3: I do likes me some total war and the warhammer games have been great.

Zelda BOTW 2. BOTW 1 (which i really must finish) was brilliant but it also felt like a first draft of a new system or a new foundation to build on for the series. i'm really interested to see what they do with it.

@hardwenzen: When I imagine people being hyped for a game like Horizon… they’re what communities used to call “graphics-whores”, hence the response you got from the above guy, but you can’t blame someone for wanting “the prettiest game ever made” after recently upgrading their console. I’m not a huge fan of the original but to say it had no gameplay… I don’t think you thought that one through.

@vaativids: I am graphics whore, so i disagree with that. Just like in AssCreed, there is no gameplay in Horizon.

Why are you comparing the original to the second? Its obvious that the sequel is of a much higher budget. Not to mention that janky gameplay is still gameplay, while there's simply none at all in Horizon 2.

lol sorry the protagnist of Horizon is a female and not a random generic male redneck with a gun. I can see how something like the paint by the numbers shooter Stalker would be on your most anticipated list as opposed to something like Horizon.

Next year is crazy loaded with games so its hard to even keep track of all the games next year.

1. Zelda BOTW 2 sequel to the best video game ever made. May end up being 2023 considering zelda games tend to get delayed and also the fact they said like hopeful for 2022 and not like quarter 1 2022 or spring 2022 etc and with covid going on.

2. Horizon forbidden west sequel to the best sony exclusive ever made and looks a lot better graphics wise on ps5 than anything on ps4 even though it is cross gen and the human combat looks way improved from the first game and the water adds a lot of possibilities. Hopefully we can fight a shark with like a torpedo or something.

3. Splatoon 3 I normally never play online I am like 99.9% offline gamer but loved Splatoon 2 and look forward to what ever is new.

4. Ghotam knights but I am also worried because the combat system of the Arkham games seems to be completely gone and that was a big part of what made those games so good and a combat system that should be used in ever batman game going forward with some tweaks.

5. Suicide squared I love the Arkham games so interested to see what rocksteady does here but at the same time we really dont know that much about the game having not seen any real gameplay yet. I think this will end up being 2023 though considering we have still not seen any real gameplay and with Ghotham knights already a 2022 game and Star Wars Skywalker saga. Just a lot from WB and I think this one will be pushed to 2023.
