What games do you want MS to revive after Activision acquisition?

I would love to see MS bring back two games via a remake or sequel in a current gen engine. These two games do have multiple installments but a remake would be my preference.

What games would you guys like to see make a comeback?

None. I want to see ALL new IPs. I want to see games taking advantage of the new hardware. I want to see innovation.

I want new games.

You can do that and still build off of an existing IP. Especially one that hasn't been around for decades.

Rebellion already rebooted Battlezone a few years back. Also, MS already has Mechwarrior so do we need a Heavy Gear game?

I don't really care about any of the Activision properties. Maybe a new Diablo game at some point, but even that series felt a bit stale to me when I played the 3rd one.

I'd much prefer MS to create new IPs.

Raven should make a new HeXen.

High Moon should make a spiritual seccessor to Darkwatch. Was an FPS that felt more like a character action game, kinda like Vanquish was for TPSs. The plan was for sequels to take place in different time periods, so change the setting and name but keep the style.

And Lord have mercy, let poor Treyatch and Infinity Ward make anything other than COD. I know there will always be more CODs, but release one every three years and let the studios take turns doing other stuff in between.

No way I'd make fun! I would like that too.

I want NEW IPs.

I remember that Battlezone reboot. I think it was more based on the arcade games than the PC game I linked above. I want that game remade. And yes. I need another Heavy Gear game.

Prototype would be at the top of my list. That game was way more ambitious then the open world snoozefests we get these days.

A Blur sequel would be cool.

Do they still have the transformers license? I wouldn't mind seeing a new Transformers game like the Cybertron games. Devastation 2 would be cool as well ... but I don't know if somebody other then Platinum could do a sequel.

I get it. Just saying a new IP doesn't necessarily mean it's the only way to push the hardware. You can push hardware with a remake. By remake I mean from the ground up recreated, not a remaster where the original game is ported and ran at higher resolutions.

Brand new Tony Hawk Pro Skater game, similar to the recent remasters. maybe even with a more open city situation like the TH underground games.

@Zero_epyon: Ha! I feel like HeXen is the perfect franchise for a revival of some kind. I have a lot of nostalgia for the old games, but can't really go back to them. They are fun, but contain a lot of bullshit the young be could put up with, but old me doesn't have time for. I'm not saying I want a Bioshock floating arrow, but if a button in level five opens a door in level two, give me some kind of marker to point me in that general direction.

I want another RTS Warcraft, and something like Starcraft ghost, use those IP in something different, like Hearthstone when it was launched and not something that is the flavor of the month like Heroes of the Storm was.

Let's bring back crash bandicroot and spyro, make them great again with the full power of 12 tflops

I would also like a great point and click; quest for glory or kings quest. And maybe a better Tribes. Tribes is based on Starsiege, right? Was that game any good?

@dimebag667: Tribes 1 was great for its time, Tribes 2 was ok, I really enjoyed Tribes: Ascend to until they started going overboard with the pay2win microtransacitons. Last I heard it was HI-Rez that had Tribes IP and they haven't made a game in ages. Maybe the IP changed hands and I didn't hear about it, CBA to look it up.

The only Activision games I want MS bridging back from the grave is...Transformers by High Moon. Hell, it's the only good game Activision has ever published for a Transformers game, War for Cybertron & Fall of Cybertron we're both amazing. I for one want MS bringing those games under from Activision.

I don't get as to why everyone is asking for a new Guitar Hero (or Rock Band) when the music industry has got really tight lip on the copyright and the reason why back than, it wasn't a big deal until now it is. I just don't see Guitar Hero coming back if the music copyrights is gonna be a huge problem.

Is it weird that Sony is a major music industry player and doesn't have a game like GH/Rockband? Also, Just Dance seems to get around that issue every year somehow.

I dunno if this is possible now that I think about it, I do wonder if MS can somehow resurrect Star Trek games from Activision's dormant. Now for those who don't know this, Activision used to have the Star Trek license in the late 90s/early 2000s, and like all Star Trek games, some games are very average like Hidden Evil, but some are also quite decent, like Elite Force 1 and 2. Raven software made EF1 which later led to Jedi Outcast. Also, Star Trek license is notoriously messy, especially back in the 90s. If Activision still has control of Star Trek license, chances are that MS can do something with it and make a good Star Trek game that can rival most Star Wars games with better resource development.

@pelvist: I only played the Tribes on PS2 (can't remember if that was 2) a couple times, and Ascend for a week or two. Both were entertaining enough, but I always felt there was a better game in there somewhere.

What about Starsiege, did you play that?

@dimebag667: I remember wanting to back in the day as I liked MechWarrior on the SNES and the graphics looked absolutely amazing in comparison to that. I don't think I ever played Starsiege though, probably because of my Everquest addiction.

@dimebag667: Tribes Ascend on PC was a great game, had a blast with it. I only played Tribes on PC but I enjoyed them alot. Not sure how they would have played on console, never tried them, was a twitchy shooter..

I just realized they own Metal Arms: Glitch in the System now. So add that to my wish-list, unlikely as it is.

@sargentd: It was definitely slowed down, but it was pretty good for a PS2 game. It was only a couple times, but if I remember correctly you could build turrets and mortars to help defend your base... but that might have just been a mode. Ascend was definitely better.

As others have said, more new IP's.

Some genres I'd like to see games in:

• God games. A really starved, dying genre seemingly supported solely by some independent titles.
• Arcade sims. Not just airplanes, but space combat, car combat, etc.
• VR titles. It is still a growing market and a tough sell, but Alyx proved that a good studio can make a game every bit as good (better, actually) as anything else on the market

Combat Flight Simulator needs to make a return.

Battlezone is a good choice.
