What January game(s) are you most looking forward to?

2024 is right around the corner! Forget about all of your 2023 backlog for a second.. what games are you looking forward to next month?! I actually will be doing the Last of Us 2 Remastered $10 upgrade.. It’s only $10 for crying out loud. And you get new content too. I’m also looking forward to Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth. This is the sequel to the 7th game that went all turned based RPG on us. Hopefully they improved on the mechanics for this next iteration. And I’m also looking forward to Tekken 8. Those graphics look incredible! How about you, SW? What January game(s) are you most looking forward to?

Definitely Prince of Persia. I didn't buy into the outrage because it wasn't a Sands of Time-esque title. And it was cool to see the IP go back to it's side-scrolling roots, even if it's different to the Apple II games.

For myself? Nothing, but i've heard Dabear is buying a ps5, and if he does, i'll get him a digital version of TLOU2 Remaster.

Got Tekken 8 pre-ordered and ready to go. Am also interested in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth but not sure when I’ll get around to getting it.

Gonna try out Another Code. Will be my first time to play.

Will it return to die and start level over? Man that was frustrating back in the day.

In the original edition of Prince of Persia, if the Prince dies, he will start at the very beginning of the level and can do this an unlimited number of times. However, there is a time limit on a complete playthrough of the game, so if the Prince restarts a level too many times, he will not have enough time to finish the complete game

Everything I heard about Prince of Persia says it's alright, but... ...urgh, Ubisoft. The king of competent-but-bland games. I instinctively feel an urge to yawn every time I see their logo on something. It's weird.

Tekken 8 would be the highlight for me - if only so I could figure out what the heck is going on in that game. It's hamtastic family melodrama on one end, goofy anime bullshit on the other, and I just want to see where it goes.

Aside from that, I'll probably be playing Rogue Trader and Cyberpunk 2077.

He is. Ever since he heard that you can smoke and sell cannabis here in Canada, he is coming by to see how it is. Probably gonna beg to use my ps5, but because he trolled me very hard in 2023, i won't allow him to touch it, its his punishment.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. I love platforming games and I'm fairly certain that I'm going to love this game.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the clear winner for me as I for one do like Ubisoft games...that catches my fancy of course. But yeah, the new Prince of Persia game does in fact, looks great from the number of trailers I've seen so far. Great start for 2024.

Nothing catching my eye for any purchases but I am curious to see how Prince of Persia will pan out.

Yeah, January seems like a good month to work through my back catalog.

And ditto to TLOU 2 flop; I generally don't hope for failure within gaming, but having a remaster already of a game that frankly doesn't need one is just pure greed.

I'm just more surprised TLOU2 Remastered isn't coming to PC and if that was the case, it would give ND an excuse to be doing this. But as I've understand it, this is just a $10 upgrade for those who already own the original game on PS4. IMO, that should have been a free upgrade.

Say what you will about Ubisoft, I hate them too. But when they try to make a good platformer, they can succeed.

I have a feeling that Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be one of the top games of 2024. So that clearly wins for me.

That would be great. The previous one felt rushed as far as the RPG mechanics go. Hopefully it‘s more refined now.

Only Tekken 8, but Feb. and March are the big months for me, so many games I want especially in February.

Tekken 8 for sure. Will probably be the best fighting game in the last 15 years.

And of course TLOU2 remaster... The extra content along with "remaster" for $10 is an absolute steal.

Tekken 8. Just need to pre-order it at the right price. I ain't going to wait for a significant price drop like Tekken 7, because I bought it 2 years after it launched and I came late to the party when trying to find an online match.

If I do buy any games next month, it’ll be TLoU 2 Remastered. I’ve held off from playing the ps4 version solely because I had a feeling that a Remastered version was coming to the ps5 at some point, just like I have a feeling that TLoU Remake will eventually find it‘s way to ps+ extra, so I didn’t buy it, besides I already bought the ps3 and the ps4 version. There was no way I was buying a ps5 version as well.
