What May game(s) are you most looking forward to?

May looks to be a low key month for me.. I did not know that Hellblade 2 is coming out this soon, so I’ll check it out on GamePass (thanks, Phil!) But I heard it will be a short game, so I’m not looking forward to that. What about you, SW? What May game(s) are you most looking forward to?

I thought Homeworld was being delayed again; time to search for parts to upgrade my pc.

Probably nothing. Mildly interested in the Paper Mario TTYD remaster as I've wanted to replay the game without busting out the old hardware, but not for Nintendo price.

Maybe World of Goo 2 if it turns out good.

Nothing. But for all the hermits getting GoT, enjoy it while you can. We ain't gonna give you many more of our exclusives, you don't deserve them.

This reminds me: Braid got delayed into May, definitely keeping my eye on the remake.

Ghost of Tsushima on Steam (Already have platinum on PS4 and PS5.) Might get the Steam platinum as well.

Wonder how great this game will be with mods! (not to mention the 4K/120 DLAA graphics)

And I had no idea World of Goo 2 was even being made but I loved the first one, so I might check that out.

Also V Rising, but I've been playing that in early access for quite some time so I feel like I've already played it. Will definitely check it out at release though as they're adding a lot of stuff.

I am surprised they're still adding to the Earth Defense Force franchise ... suppose the thousand year door remake Is something to look into since I've never played the one on GameCube

Homeworld 3, obviously. Ghost of Tsushima PC under normal circumstances would be insta-buy, but I might have to take a bit of a break from sneaking around stabbing people in a massive open world after I finish my 2nd play-through of HFW. Hellblade II also looks interesting.

May bite on Ghosts of Sheianwiayyy, assassins' Creed stuff is slop, but Japan and samurai overweight it.

It is assassin's creed, but the execution is pulled off way differently.

Kinda like how Half Life and Halo are both FPS, but are executed way differently.

Hellblade 2 and homeworld 3 are the big ones for me.

Just Ghost of Tsushima PC is all I care about. Hellblade 2 is a wait/see how the reviews pan out.

RTSs are niche these days. I don't think this will be a super-duper high-budget AAA game, but it should still be alright.

Eh. Everyone does Assassin's Creed-style games for a reason; it's a solid formula that lots of people like, including me. Nothing wrong with a default genre - as long as you do something interesting on top of it. That was my real problem with Ubisoft; they did nothing interesting with Assassin's Creed. Their world-building and storytelling felt blatantly like they were making it up as they went along, and they had me fight dudes in armours ad nauseam.

@SolidGame_basic: I'm not into Game Pass like that. I like to buy my games and owning them on the digital side so I can play'em whenever I want to. Game Pass does nothing for me and if it's a must desire game I want to play, I'll resub Game Pass but Hellblade 2 isn't one of them.

Pretty huge month for Xbox. With AAA Hellblade 2 releasing, I am all set!

Paper Mario and The Thousand Year Door is a day one purchase.

Hellblade II is a day one Game Pass on my XSX.

Might check out hellblade 2, first one was pretty good! Otherwise nothing really interest me, if I had more time I would definitely pick up GOT, imo the most underrated game last gen! Was one of the only open world ever that actually got better as it progressed!

But yeah just started Spider-Man 2, which is awesome except for the weirdly bad graphic!

Hope we get MediEvil next.

Homeworld 3 will be day 1. I probably wont play it day 1 (give it some patching time) but definitely buy.

Endless Ocean will be for the Switch 2 next year. One for the backlog. I enjoyed the previous 2.

Ghost is for later in the year. Leaving some patching time there too.

I think i'll stick with F1 2020. I used to buy one every few years but 2020 is pretty frickin comprehensive (and runs great on the deck) and the upgrades since then seem a bit...meh. Also this season in real F1 is pretty dire :P.

Will likely pick up ghost of T at some point down the road, but likely nothing this month for immediate purchase.

Crow Country (it's kind of like an old Resident Evil style game, but, it's indie and it looks different. The demo was kinda ominous, so I might buy the whole game.

Other than that Homeworld 3 I hope is good and Paper Mario I might get. Not sure. I played it a long time ago when it was new and didn't finish it.

All I really care is Ghost of Tsushima PC.

Maybe GoT on PC. My renovations start in May, so that may have to wait a few months.

I didn't think anything interesting was coming out for a while, but it turns out I just wasn't paying attention. Homeworld 3 and Hellblade 2 look pretty cool, and I might be the only one who cares, but Endless Ocean is a big deal to me.

@osan0: I heard F1 2020 was one of the better entries. Had planned to pick it up cheap at some point, but EA pulled an EA and delisted all the pre-acquisition releases. Buncha dicks.

Will get F1 24 at the end of the year on the cheap as I just bought (with great difficulty) F1 23.

I bought a PS4 pro for TLOU 2 specifcally but when Ghost of Tsushima released I did this with TLOU:

@R4gn4r0k:Absolute blasphemy considering TLOU2 is a vastly superior game to GoT in virtually every metric except exploration (obviously).

While I feel the game was originally underrated by critics (82 mc is not but its similar to Ass Creed or Far Cry games lol that's insulting.),

it is (next to RDR2) the most overrated game on several social platforms (i.e. TikTok, YouTube). These zoomer kids are still crying about Ghost of T getting 'robbed' by TLOU2 for GOTY (fun fact: TLOU2 was the highest rated and it became the most awarded game in history and runner up wasn't Ghost it was Hades. Ghost hardly won anywhere).

@SolidGame_basic: Yeah the game is great. It has the honour of being the first game I ever platinumed. After 14 years of PSN gaming. (4 years later and I have now have 10 plats).

However the minute I got the plat I got instantly bored. Replayed the dlc and loads of that survival co-op mode on PS5.

Can't wait for the PC version. upgraded graphics/ frame rate + mods and now its 4 years since I beat the game.

Also excited to see how the Sony PC platform layout turns out.

Paper Mario: TTYD!

I haven't yet replayed TLOU 2 because I hold an inkling of hope that the game will come to PC in the end.

I'm not in the hating camp for TLOU 2. In fact I specifically wanted TLOU 2 to not be another Joel and Ellie adventure as I felt the first game was perfect.

So yeah that leaves GoT just being that good.

I'm already a sucker for Assassin's Creed games, they are my time machines.

And GoT is simply AC but done better: it has better more immersive exploration, it has a way better combat style, it has a fantastic story and main protagonist, it has a mount that you grow to love... It has everything.

TLOU 2 has a way better predecessor.

Nothing in may got enough on my plate.

TLOU1 is better I agree. But its top 3 GOAT vs top 5-10 GOAT so it is damn near close enough.

Ghost of T is everything an Ass Creed game should have been. Its what Ubisoft wish they could make lol.

I just wouldn't put it up there with TLOU1-2, GOW(R), RDR2, BOTW, Witcher 3, etc.

Just one notch below though.
