Console-only users almost exclusively play new games because their options are so limited. Either the game isn't available on the current or last gen system or they do have the system but it's not in print anymore and expensive used. They get used to this and then tell themselves, "Why would I still play the old games after I bought a new console?" Not me. Been getting more into older games again lately because I'm tired of the decline. I have my emulators.

That is demonstrably false. I am not sure how or why you came to such a false conclusion.

My supervisor is twenty. He asked as we urinated today,

"What did you do this weekend?"

"I watched some movies. Played a video game."

"Fortnight?"

"No, A Link to the Past. It's a Zelda game released in 1991, I think."

"What did you play it on, N64?"

This is what playing exclusively on consoles does to most people. They get used to only consuming the current product because backwards compatibility is limited and games go out of print.

Already mentioned emulation. Weak, dude. It's one of the reasons remasters and remakes are so common. Because they don't have access or don't want to spend money on the old systems and games.

Because I’m not an 8 year old, the only real options are Xbox or ps5, so ps5 because it actually has good games.

PS5 and we’ll see what Nintendo unveils. Xbox as usual has nothing but garbage to play on, so it’s not even a contender

So, you are arguing that console gamers are incapable of having older systems to play games?🤔

You are also ignoring the fact that you can emulator older consoles on the Xbox Series and One.

As stated before your comment is demonstrably false.

Says it's demonstrably false, repeats it, doesn't actually show it/explain. Only need to look at a forum like this or talk to regular people to know that the great majority of console users play new games almost exclusively.

Who would own an Xbox?
