A shift in focus, for better and for worse.

Penumbra started as a mere tech demo, but has since then blossomed into an episodic series. Frictional Game's trademark physics interaction and defecate-inducing levels of horror are what made the two episodes so success... Read Full Review

    Is this a joke?

This is not Penumbra. Seriously, it's not much of anything. It's a series of platformer puzzles in an environment that loosely resembles Penumbra, that's all. There's not even any point to the puzzles. They're just..... Read Full Review

How to ruin the hype of a conclusion

Penumbra overture was great, the atmosphere, the scares, the gameplay mechanics with the objects, door and other, was ingenious. Only the fight with wolves was imperfect, but this thing didn't kill the experience, it was... Read Full Review

A fun puzzle game, but not much of a finish for the series.

Requiem is a puzzle game. The horror-survival experience that made the first two games so great was left behind for the most part, and replaced with lots of problem solving. There were two (only two, for me) creepy build... Read Full Review

    REVIEW! Puzzles....THAT'S ALL!

REVIEW! Puzzles....THAT'S ALL! See? This was the easiest review I ever wrote because that's all there is to Penumbra Requiem! Narrated books of a madman whom you never meet. Red returns to annoy the hell out of you again... Read Full Review

More puzzles, and that's pretty much it.

Takes the hallucination sequences from Black Plague and gives you more of them, basically. There's no real context or story, it only took me four hours to finish, and there's no tension as in the first two, as there are ... Read Full Review

Requiem is a sad disappointment, a bunch of lazy physics puzzles thrown together with no story or atmosphere whatsoever.

Requiem is, sadly, no more than a puzzle game. Think of it as an attempt to make Portal using the Penumbra engine, minus the portals, GlaDOS and a storyline. You're presented with a series of puzzle rooms where you have ... Read Full Review

The worst game of the saga penumbra...

Well i dont know from where to start, i must say i was really anxious for this game, i thought that it was going to be better than the last one, like black plague was better than overture but i was wrong... The game s... Read Full Review

Is this even the same game?

Good: 1.Some of the puzzles are actually interesting, with multiple ways to complete them...Although I'm not sure if they were purposely designed that way. 2.I like the old school "trials" feel to the game. 3.You get ... Read Full Review

Loss of cohesion but maintains puzzle quality.

Requiem is the third game in the Penumbra franchise and it's designed to tie up the loose ends, it was also designed to push to limits of the penumbra design. The game is a series of puzzle "rooms" joined together by por... Read Full Review

The adventure ends here, this is all puzzles and no story at all.

If you're like me and enjoyed the last two installments of the action/adventure Penumbra games, you will not be moved at all from this expansion pack to Penumbra: Black Plague. Penumbra: Requiem is a puzzle game, noth... Read Full Review
