1080p is the best quality, but you need to have your PS3 output in 1080p and the game has to support it. Most games don't and the ones that do don't run the best in 1080p.
Really 720p is your best bet for this gen.

No, 720p is not the best bet for this gen. Perhaps it's fine for right now, but I can tell you that you'll be ticked in less than two years that you didn't go full 1080p. A 1080p tv does not force you to be in 1080p, so if you stillwanted to run in 720p you could, however, studios are getting more efficient with their games and getting closer and closer to running top-notch in 1080p so you should give yourself that extra level.
anybody know what 2.1 does. this morning is ask me to update.ocdog45
It's 2.01, not 2.1, and the link is in the messages before yours. It would have saved you time to read them.
Firmware 2.0 to be released in the next few days:

I would say its safe to say that you will NOT be getting an Emblem for being a guest there. there was only one Emblem this year and I don't think they plan on having any more.fastesttruck
Here's the description of the emblem:
It's a treat when famous players meet.
This person did it real big with GameSpot and got wild on a Tuesday night at the GameSpot Players' Ball. Whether you saw the action from the confines of your own home or, like a true cross-country mack, stepped out into the spotlight with us live and in person, we sincerely appreciate it. If we could give you all a ride in our snotty-nosed ham sandwich with the brains blown, we totally would. That's a car, by the way. PBEmblemDesc
So.... yea.... Looks like it was intended for people in person as well as remotely.
How about those that were there at Players' Ball in person? Is there going to be an emblem for us? If it's just a matter of someone going down the guestlist, then that's cool. I just don't want to get stuck in a few weeks with the response "You should have said something sooner."LoneStranger
So any news on this one? It's been nearly a month, and nothing for those who were there in person.
