I'm not telling myself, my reply was to you. I bet in 8 years of development and after hundreds of millions of dollars FFXV was still in alpha too, and Too Human and Team Fortress 2, and Prey (95)... The difference is one is open development and the others were publisher funded and announced months before their release instead of years.
You can believe whatever you want to try and make yourself feel better, but none of those games blew hundreds of millions of dollars with almost nothing to show for it after 8-years. In fact, there aren't many games that sell well enough to recoup a development budget in the hundreds of millions. In Star Citizen's case, return on investment is a nonissue because with suckers like you willing to pay for nothing but a promise, Chris Roberts has already made his money and then some even if he never actually finishes the game.
