Sweet, thanks for the feedback. I currently own HD555's which have been modded to be 595's. They work for the most part, but wanted something with more oomph That's why I was looking at the D2000's(and at the price point it looks even more tempting)

Allright Well now its down to the AD900's and D2000...Ill look more into the Beyerdynamic's as well. Thanks a ton guys

I feel ya NVIDIATI. I would hate to pay $270 for the K 702's only to be hearing half or less of it's actual greatness. Well I guess now I'm stuck between the

-AD900-If these are not significantly better than the 700's I'll settle for those and spray paint the purple cups)-Hear the bass is better on these than the 700...can anyone confirm

-HD598

-DT880 32OHM version(just threw it in there I suppose for good measure lol, can't make up my freaking mind I know =p)

-EDIT: I also wanted to add the Denon ATH2000 to the list. I know these are closed, but I saw a vendor letting them go for $246 shipped...Figured I'd ask about them to, since the normally sell for $360 and up it seems. I believe the OHM is 25 (according to Spec tables/graphs I've seen online). Just throwing it out there

I heard somewhere of people using a Fiio 11(or 7 or 9 I can't remember) with the amp to power higher impedence Cans...but that just looks to complicated(not to mention expensive). So I'll just shut up lol

Thank again guys, I'm not ignorant, just stupid(there's a difference) :)

I love open a lot more than closed. Closed doesn't provide as good of soundstage from my experience, so directional cues don't seem nearly as present so it kills immersion of surround.

Really the easiest way to decide open or closed is if you have roomates or other members of the household. If they complain about sound then spend a bit more to get a great closed pair. If they don't complain or no one is there, easily open. I know some of my classmates chose open because they had children and it was easier to pay attention to both at the same time.

the PC360 is not bad. It's just overpriced because of that mic. I think a Bravo V2 would have enough juice for the 702s, but of course higher quality amps means higher quality sound.

I hate your GIF so much because we've yet to hear anything about that game :(

ChubbyGuy40

Thanks for the reply ChubbyGuy40. from time to time, someone may be in the room and also A tv may be on in the background but I don't think it'll be to much of a disturbance to them. Will astro mixamp be able to power the 702's?

Sorry about the gif. I hate looking at too, since The last I heard any news about the game was back in 2009 I believe...pretty annoying =p

Well the first is, Which type of headphone is better for mostly gaming(about 94%) Open or Closed? To my knowlegde(which barely any) Open has a wider soundstage but closed give you more Bass and no leakage and better isolation(not my words, but what the general consensus say)

I ask this cause of my second question: I'm interested in a few different headset(closed and open) headphones which are:

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-AD900-Dynamic-Headphones/dp/B0006OQY2S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1311373003&sr=8-1

and

http://www.amazon.com/Technica-ATH-A900-Audiophile-Closed-Back-Headphones/dp/B0006VT1TY/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1311373035&sr=1-1

and

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-598-Audiophile-Headphones/dp/B0042A8CW2/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1311374508&sr=1-1

I'd do a boom mic attachment, so I wouldn't just stick to a headset(like PC360)

Obviously There are others That I'm really interested such as AKG K702 and Beyerdynamic amongst others, but I would need to buy something to power them to fully enjoy(also from what I've heard) and a simple astro mixamp or bravo v2 would not suffice(also from what I've heard/read).

Before commenting keep this in mind: I'm still learning about a lot of things so I'm open to suggestions/ideas/thoughts/opinions so feel free to tell me or guide in the right direction. I also do not have any Audiophile, Hi-fi, listening centers etc. within 125 miles from me so it is nearly impossible for me to "try before I buy" when it comes to this, hence why I ask so many questions. So I have to take into account the opinion of many and my own research to come with conclusions(yes it sucks) and finally make a buy. Also heavy reliance on Return policies is always a plus :)

Thanks guys again for your continual advice/support on a Newborn infant child in the world of headphones :) (well not entirely I know Trittons, TB, Astros are sub-par so...=p)

Well im in a bit of a pickle here. I had A Sennheiser HD555+Bravo v2+and zalman clip on mic combo previously for my PS3. It worked for the most part, But I hated the clip on mic with a passion. I'm sorry not to be rude to anyone who loves it, but I hate that it picked up every thing in my room . It's not a boom mic, and since my room is the bus stop to get to hell, I have a fan on constantly and it annoyed other players when chatting online. But I dealt with it as best I could. Trying this setup on Xbox 360...Not so good. It was horrible due to the 360 utterly bad sound. plus the fact I had to have both voice and Chat on the same channel made it nearly impossible to hear team-mates and/or use the headsets to their full functionality. Also to add to the fun, my current PC Headset broke on me. It was never a good one, but decent enough...more or less. So now I need a headset for my PS3(Least Important), Xbox 360(most important) and PC(second most important)

I grew tired of the Bravo setup due to the fact I rarely use my PS3 nowadays(which for PS3, worked fine) and Since a whole ton of titles, more importantly big multiplayer games are hitting, (which I will be getting for 360) and the fact that the setup was "ehh" at best on 360(total blame on the xbox ^_^...or me I dont know). So I looked into the Astro A40 Sound system(Don't flame me just yet, keep reading) since I wanted something that would work on all three systems and just wanted to cave on the whole research and setup aspect of things. I've heard of Astros headsets themselves being low quality, but now they have a 2011 version which fixed all the issues of its predecessor. Whatever, I never heard the first one, so I'm a virgin going into it regardless.(wow that sounded incredibly Ga...). It is $250 + $12 for it to be shipped to me. I nearly took the plunge. But decided to be myself, and look at reviews like I always do(I hate me), but to my avail I saw more praise on the sets than before(on the 2009) editions. Not too many horrible reviews...but the ones I did see were enough to have me reconsider.

Astro Mixamp: I got to the conclusion(sadly there is more writing I'm sorry), that the real draw is the Astro Mixamp. I've seen alot of mic setups and a lot of people recommending this mixamp for exactly what I need. I hear the Headsets are crap and not worth $120(since the amp is $130). I would use a TOSLink cable on the 360 Optical port(I'm sure the Slim has one...If not then this is a shot in the dark, and a jab to the crotch if it doesn't) and etc. The Mixamp comes with the necessary cables(except Optical) such as 360 chat cable and PC Y Connector for Separate audio/mic hook-ups(what I need, I think).

Audio Technica AD700: Well, from what I hear in alot of forums and internet talk(Keyword is "HEAR" not my opinion cause I don't know) is they are better for "gaming" then the HD555's...Of course this all opinions and whatnot. Also check out this pic:

ATH AD700 with Mic

This is basically the mod I want to do with the AD700. (Here comes a stupid part) Putting the mic mod will be much easier on the AD700 than on the HD555 since the AT's have the flat recess on the cup whereas the HD555's is rounded. I'm not smart and I'm pretty sure an unborn fetus knows how to put the mod on HD555's, but I'm quite "Not there" in the head at times(notice the long post). But like I said this isn't the only reason I want them. The "gaming" aspect(no confirmation on this) over the Sennheisers and I hear they're more comfortable. The HD555's pinch my glasses and hurt at times over extended periods of time. But I know both are solid sets.

Labtec LVA-7330-Boom mic, plain and simple. I hate the clip-on zalman so much, mostly cause of the environment I'm in. Although the labtec is quite hard to come by, nowadays but I have a source(sound like a drug dealer...) Plus I can bend it to be comfortable, unlike the zalman I usually had to deepthroat the mic for anyone to hear me(Did I just say that?!?)

So I can grab a pair of the Headphones for around 80-100 New, The Mic, $10 new and The Mixamp would be $130. Total around $235(less than the Astro A40 Sound system). With all things considered in this post and the things I am looking for, Is this the route I should take? If yes or no please feel free to give me more insight. Audio is definitely not my forte, I just want the best deal for my money. If there is a better headset or combination I should go for that doesnt break the bank, I'm all ears. Thank you for your time and reading this long post. I apoligise for my stupid humor beforehand...it's a curse. And please if I said something wrong cause of lack of knowledge please forgive me, I'm not trying to troll. Thanks again

Been gaming for quite some time, so I may have an extensive list...maybe not

Final Fantasy VII remake need to happen but sadly I doubt it will

We are in dire need of a Legacy of Kain sequel as well as Jak and Daxter

and a TRUE sequel to Marvel vs Capcom 2...What they did to 3 was just bad

Baldur's Gate Dark alliance and/or Champions of Norrath sequel...come on we don't need more FPS games

Legend of Dragoon sequel just to name one of the many PS1 titles(Alundra, Countdown vampires, Vagrant Story, Bushido Blade, Crono Cross/Trigger, Syphon Filter, just to name a few from the top of my head)...hmm not a chance, I will continue to dream

I cant even think of all the PS2 games that need sequels...Onimusha, Okami..first ones that pop up

Let's see if Capcom ever gets on the ball with Rival Schools and Darkstalkers...probably not, they'll just release more editions/revisions to Street Fighter 4

Skies of Arcadia...at least a HD remake jeez

sequels for Gladius, XIII, as well Eternal Darkness...Wow jeez these are like common sense. Maybe not to some

Maybe some Dreamcast games completely remade or sequels. I'm sure many wouldn't mind Power Stone, Sword of the Berserk , Sonic Adventure , Jet Set Radio, Carrier, Crazy Taxi, and of course Shenmue just to name a few...We will see this? Maybe when we die I guess

Sorry for the long post...I've kept a backlog in my brain of titles that I must somehow create myself....

Yeah I owned Borderlands previously, and it was one of the better games this gen. Unfortunately for me me and my friends played co-op on that for months we pretty much did everything and tried all the characters we got tired of it. But it lasted a good long time. I do wish there was more to the story and it had armor sets as well as weapons. Big fan of games that are all about the loot lol(Too Human, Sacred 2, Diablo 2, just to name a few)

Unfortunately, we are plagued with a ton of tards and foul-mouthed kids on places like XBL. IF I can count the amount of times complaints that were filed on me on XBL, PSN, League of Legends, WoW(lol no lie, thankfully I don't play this trash anymore), etc, I should not be able to play another online game for 3 years at least. Trust me it takes quite a bit to get a mod or ban on your account, so you should be fine.

Funny story. One time a kid who was getting destroyed in a CoD match by me and a few friends, claimed he was Lebron James cousin and he was gonna get him to pay MS to ban us all(or some crap like that). Kids say darndest things...(^_^)
