However Governments, Institutions, Corporations and the media never like to let a crisis go to waste. The media wants the eyeballs, the government wants more power, the Corporations want to sell you more things you don't need and the institutions want more funding.

So they all have incentives to make people think this is worse than it is.

America won't cut it's oil and natural gas production because of the petrodollar. Instead they will bomb countries, block pipelines with NGO's to prevent other countries from producing oil and gas.
