Like someone else said there's a steam update that lets you play the demo, it's called "November 3, 2009 - Steam client update released" "A Steam client update is now available. To apply the update, click the File menu inside of Steam and then select "Check for Steam Client Updates...". The specific changes include:

Steam Client

  • Fixed possible issues when launching the Left 4 Dead 2 Demo"

Once you install this update the L4D2 demo in your games list should change from preload complete to 100% ready. Try restarting steam or playing a game and exiting to get the update. Sometimes I don't get updates straight away even though my setting is automatically download updates when available.

Hmm... don't really know, to be honest... probably the original Tomb Raider I own for the PC? it's in an ancient big box with the actual case and disc inside... ahh the 90s...Ashley_wwe
Those big boxes got changed to DVD cases about 7 or 8 years ago, so they were still sold like that in the 00's. But still, I remember going up to my pals in the 90's and he had an X-Files game in that big box, it was a time when I wasn't a PC gamer and I wondered what that game was like because the big box made the game seem like a big adventure.

Urban Chaos for PS1. My only complaint is that you cannot save in-game, so if you die you have to start the level again which is a pain, especially when you die by getting far in a level and trying to jump on a horizontal slide rope, only to miss it and fall to yer death matey, arrr.

[QUOTE="liquidzero123"]Good stuff Ashley. And by the way, it wasn't Harry's advice, it was the police officer's advice to Harry. Her name is Cybil Bennett. Have a look at this very brief part of a video for Silent Hill...Ashley_wwe
Yeah, I only played Silent Hill for like an hour because I couldn't get to the School... I was like 10 then :P. As I love RE games I have wanted to get in to SH for years now, I am going to buy Homecoming soon... then maybe 1? Yeah, MGS isn't that stealthy... it's like imagine playing Forza, then playing GTA (the driving). It mostly plays out for you and it's got a great story, awesome locations and VERY fun boss fights. You should definately pick it up, as well as Sons Of Liberty/Substance, Snake Eater/Subsistance and Guns Of The Patriots. Trust me, each and every single MGS game is AMAZING!!! they all have this fun feeling to them! :D

Haha well fair enough because if you didn't use the paper map that Harry collects then it will be hard to know where the school is. Even if you did use the map, maybe you were too young to fully understand it, who knows. But you should be able to understand it now because the arrow on the map is Harry, and you just look for the school on the map, and once you know both these things you just look at the roads on the map and say "I go left and pass 3 road junctions, then take the first left and go straight down untill I see the school to my right" - that's just an example of a good way to figure out how to get to a place in Silent Hill, I'm not saying that's the actual route to the school.

Well when I was a kid and had my PS1 that my mum bought for my Christmas, I played Silent Hill 1 back then and I really liked it. It's a psychological horror game but there's still action in it and with its music and atmosphere alot of people can get more scared while playing Silent Hill than RE. Here's a great clip to show this off - have a look at it from 4:15 untill the video finishes and you'll get a taste of what it's like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=952NoFhRBGA Maybe you didn't get this far, but if you did then it's a good scene to refresh your memory of the scariness of the game.

Yeah you're sure right about that when you say MGS plays out for you. It's like a high-budget movie where it just plays out for you and it really touches you. Great story as you said yep.

Good stuff Ashley. And by the way, it wasn't Harry's advice, it was the police officer's advice to Harry. Her name is Cybil Bennett. Have a look at this very brief part of a video for Silent Hill where she gives him advice, and you'll see the bit I'm talking about, her exact words are "And don't do it unless you have to" - she's referring to firing a gun. Watch the video from 2:55 and you'll hear what she has to say http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvJcDYzSrec&feature=related

MGS1 isn't as stealthy as Splinter Cell. MGS1 isn't too stealthy, there's alot of action moments and your stealth is basically hiding behind walls and not getting in the vision of the guards. You can just shoot them though, but better with a silencer. You can grab guard's necks behind them and break their necks, or grab their neck and pull them somewhere.

Apparently RE1 Director's Cut has more ammo. Maybe you were trying to shoot every zombie you came across, which wouldn't be a great idea because it's wasting ammo and alot of the time you can run past them. As the police officer who said to Harry Mason in Silent Hill 1 - don't shoot unless you have to. I loved MGS1 and RE2, but RE1 was ok too. MGS was a masterpiece.

Spyro the Dragon, Resident Evil and Tomb Raider. I don't want to get anymore games for my PS1 untill I've got the most out of the ones I have.
