Alright, so I think its time to upgrade my rig, and looking for some advice since is been many years, and with everything new coming out its hard to keep track, my budget is around 500-600 for a new cpu, mobo, ram and I would like a good ssd or m.2 type, something alot quicker than my WD hdd....
my current specs
amd fx 8350 at 4.5ghz
msi 970 mobo
8gb ddr 3
gtx 1060 6gb
mostly 1080p gaming, some music production, so what would you guys recommend.

So, Im trying to run an older game from the early 2000s on a windows 10 PC
when launching the game it say "you need a processor with mmx capabilities to run this game"
is there anything I can do to get this running?
Skyrim
He definitely does not need a i7 7700k for 1080p gaming....
honestly, get just user made texture packs, it will looks so much better.
Beat it in 14 1/2 hours and I'm currently going through Madhouse Mode. Shit is RED HOT. It covers all the signposts Resident Evil fans require with a fresh coat of paint, refined gameplay, phenomenal voice acting (head and shoulders the best the series has ever seen), and some of the best horror atmosphere I've ever experienced.
Yay. Big ol' yay.
how did you take you 14 1/2 hours? I beat it the first time only in 7 hours and I was taking my time and making sure I didn't miss anything, I finished it on madhouse in about 2 hours lol.
wait for zen.
all modern cards use a PCI express slot... also the 1060 only uses a single 6 pin and newer cards are becoming more power efficient.
Im using a 1060 6gb with a FX8350 oc to 4.5ghz, and im playing at 4K with decent frames.
RE4, Killzone 2, Xcom 2
Definitely killzone 2, got it when it first came out, and the controls felt very sluggish, they patched it later but it wasn't perfect, I still finished the game though.
