Some faster RAM and new lighting inside and on the back of the case. This is probably gonna be it for upgrades until the next gen of GPU's that can handle ray-tracing better.

I found out something very very interesting with my RAM upgrade. When I had 2400MHz RAM DX11 always ran better than DX12. DX12 always gave me a huge performance hit for some reason. Now that I upgraded to 3200MHz DX12 runs WAYYYYY better than DX11. This is freakin' insane. Wtf. DX12 seems to be extremely reliant on your RAM speed. Even in DX11 games I'm getting massive FPS increases. I can't believe what a difference this is making. My mind is blown. Gotdam.

EDIT: DX12 running better seems dependent on the game but games that didn't run well on DX12 run better now. Some others still give odd performance when using DX12. Interesting results so far. I've been testing shit for a few hours now. I'll be back with more findings tomorrow.

EDIT 2: DX12 works great in Rise of the Tomb Raider but terrible in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I don't get this shit lol.

@horgen: Thanks for making me buy ram punkass. I got a prebuilt this time around cuz it was super cheap but the ram in it was shit (2400). I've been holding off because ram prices have been crazy. Oh well...

After extensive research and benchmark videos it seems going over 3200 is a total waste of money. This should be a decent upgrade from 2400.

The Borderlands 3 trailer was absolutely awful. Has to be one of the worst trailers in recent memory for such a hyped game. It looked exactly the same as 1 and 2. That being said I am hype af about the game and will sink a hundred or so hours into it.

I dunno man, you guys must not have good TV's. The difference with HDR on/off on mine is absolutely mind blowing. It's not a slight difference on mine like you seem to claim with your TV, it's a freakin massive difference. HDR varies greatly from TV to TV. A $1,000 TV will come nowhere remotely close to the HDR of a $5,000 TV. Do you have Dolby Vision HDR or just HDR10? Do you have an OLED TV? That's where HDR shines because OLED can do perfect blacks and each pixel has its own illumination rather than a backlight so colors do not bleed onto one another.

Here's a video of my TV, make sure you turn on 4K on YouTube. Ofc it's hard to tell HDR quality through a video but midway through you can see how bright it gets while the rest of the screen stays black. If your TV can't put out near blinding light that lights up an entire room like this then you probably don't have great HDR.

Also I agree about Ray-Tracing, it's a really big leap. I've seen a lot of on/off videos of it on YouTube with Metro Exodus and it's really awesome. That being said I still think HDR makes a far bigger difference because rather than effecting just lighting, HDR effects the lighting and colors and contrast. HDR is a hardware tech leap so it's a bit difference to compare it to software but man HDR is much better than I ever expected. I'm really happy I upgraded my TV even though I had just bought one a year beforehand.
