Great Article. In terms of gameplay and re-playability MGS4 is the best in my oppinion and has amazing pay off in terms of story. I didn't mind the drebin system much since you still had to collect the PMC weapon before laundering it with DP, which is difficult in a harder mode.

MGS3 has the best story in my eyes, mostly because of its myth and intrigue when it came to The Cobra's and The Boss and Snake's relationship. It added survival gameplay, such as eating animals in a jungle 60's setting, while using MGS2's great stealth gameplay.

MGS2 was amazing graphically when it was released in 2001, and improved and refined gameplay that made great use of the game evironment. Its story was convulted though and really tried to serve as a sequal to MGS.

MGS was an amazing game on a old system that used clever quirky gameplay mechanics with a fantastic story. Its cinimatic scenes are to be applauded, this game pre-dated The Matrix and pulled off amazing, epic scenes.
