To everyone complaining about the online portion. WHO CARES!? Gears was NEVER an excellent contender for online. You want online action play Halo3 or L4D games INTENDED for online. Gears is story driven first online second.
@anelzukic PS3 reads 3 times more formats......? What PS3 are you playing? 360 reads music. dvd's, burnt dvd's and pictures. the only format it does not support is obviously Blu-ray. You are right that in most cases the PS3 is slightly inferior to 360 depending on the game but it has improved greatly since 2006. The fact remains tho PS3 is supposedyl twice as powerful then 360 yet has not shown this yet.
Only MAJOR difference I see in PC compared to 360 and PS3 is it's birghter which proves nothing. A few textures look a bit sharper but that is so minor it's not worth stressing about. Where Gamespot has the nerve to express the radical difference baffles me. Sure it may run smoother on PC but that's not the case. We're talking image comparisons and a few tighter textures does not make a game. There are no leaps and bounds of glory visually in these shots.

@eugenmale YEAH! I did compare them. I played ALL of those games I mentioned unlike YOU who automatically assumes things and can't get his head out of Sony's ***. Sue me for enjoying such a simple game like L4D more then an overinflated 14 hour CGI movie with approx 5 hours of ACTUAL gameplay. I beat MGS4 once and dropped it like an old habit. So far I've put in more hours with L4D then I did with MGS4. Is it that absurd that someone happens to enjoy one game over another? You talk that old UE3 junk but fail to realize they actually just IMPROVED it and MOST games use it you damned fool! Sure MGS4 looked good but the environments were so confined the engine had little to do with rendering much so of course the images you saw looked as good as they did that's the only damn thing that was in focus. Play something else other then ONE game from last year that NO ONE other then Sony fanboys are still talking about. The game was fun for the first run through after that there's nothing left to see. I for one enjoy online multiplayer games which you get ALOT more out of in the long run and NO MGSO does not count! That game is a joke and the red headed step child of online gaming.
@ryan489 Both consoles ARE pretty much equal at this point, I'll agree. Both showcase amazing visuals and good games, but see the images PROVE that 360 eeks out the advantage with the minor details. You know that old saying "WINNER AND BY A NOSE!" which is REALLY sad considering here we are two years later for PS3 where the combined power of the Cell and Blu-ray (according to PS3 fanboys) should be dominating the 360 and it's "lacking" and "unacceptable" DVD9. Sad tho it isn't. Now to those talking up Uncharted and MGS 4 I won't deny they both look great but I will GUARAN-DAMN-TEE that if they were both on 360 as well we'd be sitting here looking at those games with minor graphical differences showcasing the 360 with the advantage. It might seem futile to argue over such tiny details but it's as if looking at the world with fading eyesight and then someone puts on a pair of glasses which sharpens all those fuzzy details and brings everything in the background into focus.
@ediblefood No game comes close to MGS4? Oh come on! I had just as much fun playing Mass Effect, Gears of War AND Left 4 Dead (In fact MORE fun with L4D then MGS4) it's all a matter of opinion. PS3 has one or two good games and you guys can't seem to let go of the past. Please!
