This pretty much means Yakuza is dead over here. It's a shame we might not even see the developer games here anymore tbh if this is an indication. :/ Sega really got nothing to offer me anymore.
Because higher sales open up more room for a sequel or something. We would've got Yakuza 5 by now if it sold more over here. :/ but that's also kinda sega fault.
IDRC nor do most people. But lets not pretend that sales figures and quality don't go hand in hand to an extent. I've never bought a game that didn't go on to make at least a milli in sales -- that's no coincidence.

It means you missed out on a decent amount of great games. A few examples off the top of my head is Yakuza 3/4, Okami and god hand. I can easily list more though.
The Wonderful 101 sales do matter because we want Platinum to keep making crazy games and if they don't sell, they won't.locopatho
Poor sales haven't stopped them before and thankfully Nintendo is taking the bullet for them.
"This time the size of the game was so large, so rather than localizing [Yakuza 5] we chose to focus our manpower on the [Isshin], Nagoshi said. But we get asked about it a lot. We get lots of complaints!" Yeah screw you too. >.>
