I have no idea about law but do Sony have the legal right to do this? When I brought my PS3 Linux compatibility was one of the features we were told the console had, hypothetically some people may have brought it just because they wanted to run Linux. Surely this is the same as if one day Sony just decided to remove support for games or Blu Ray?

You clearly know jake about graphics. Gow3 lacks something all console games lack anisotropic filtering and higher resolution if it had high levels of that you would clearly see it's better then uc2. Uc2 has alot of flaws when it comes to textures gow3 doesn't. I said I have a 1080p TV in response to your sd statement not that I play said title at that res. Anybody that can read can look at the back of the box and see that the game was intended to be played at 720p, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out, but hey your literate I'm happy for you have a cookie. Yeh GOW III doesn't look ass I just like to pee people of my bad, but tiny environments, fixed camera angles etc should positively affect what can be done with textures, lighting and other effects, but it isn't leap and bounds above or even really better then other AAA titles on the PS3. For such a big title from a 1st party developer I expected a lot more on the visual front, and trying to compare it to such an ambitious game as Crysis as the TC did is a joke. About knowing jack about graphics I'm in year two of my degree at Europe's leading university for visualisation and animation and have a year of work experience with Rare lined up for this summer to look forward to. Not meaning to brag or score points (hell I'm not even in the industry yet), but I very much doubt there's anything you could inform me of relating to graphics that I do not already know.
GOW 3 is far from impressive, nice art direction but graphically this game looks average.
