The biggest issue here is companies will lose money which in turn will kill the major steam sales many love. If you can buy a game for the price it cost to rent why would you even want to sell it?
They have a Steam-like platform that allows for you to still trade-in games, and also share your games across XBL.
The problem is that they have not come out and expressed this fact to the gaming community which is a problem because the gaming community is incredibly stupid and thinks any form of "DRM" is evil despite not even knowing what it means.
The issue is they just came up with this because of the backlash, there is nothing set in place it is just to try and get people back on their side.
