Pure is a surprisingly good game which blows away all you expectations of a rubbish Disney game with no flare.

Pure is a surprisingly good game with jaw-dropping backdrops and excellent graphics. It has a basic structure with you competing in a World Tour. You start off on one event and you unlock the next and then the next. This can be frustrating sometimes if you hate all the tracks at one event but that usually isn't the case as they are all really fun and challenging.

In the game you ride ATVs over tracks in order to come first or do the most tricks. To do tricks you have to pull off the jump fast enough and press A, B or Y and a direction on the left stick. This makes tricks very inaccurate as there is a trick not just for left, right, up and down but all the diagonals aswell. This leads to you doing tricks you didn't want to.

You create your own ATVs in your garage selecting every single detail form the brakes, to the frame, to the handlebar protectors. This gives a massive range to choose from and usually making an ATV takes considerable time.

The races themselves are split up into three categories. Race, Sprint and Freestyle.

Race is a simple race with you competing against several other riders who get in your way and cut you up. Most of these are passed though and so by the time you reach you 3rd and final lap you are basically by yourself.

Sprint is a five lap race in which the laps are very very short and there are next to no jumps. This category is quite confusing as it measures the fastest lap times but even if you have an amazing best lap time, if you do not cross the finish line first you still don't win.

Freestyle is a category in which you have a fuel bar and by completing tricks you gain fuel and boost (nitrous). This has the same problems as Sprint as even if you have ten times the amount of tricks points as all the other players, if you lose all your fuel faster than one other rider you don't win. This is a small problem but in the future, Disney should stick to one thing the race is being assessed on. Otherwise Sprint is just a short race and freestyle is not based on the tricks at all.

Overall Pure is a good game that you can easily pick up and put down when ever you want so it is a perfect game for short breaks. BUT it does need a lot of fine tuning so think about a better racing game if you want to buy this.
