It's not anything over the top unique, but it is fun to play.

So I am completely re-reviwing this because it completely deserves it.

Story: The story is long and multi-directional. Though the path is linear, how you get to the end is very multi-faceted. Not i've been playing for approximately 30 hours now and i'm half way through the second of presumably five acts. The characters each have their own cliche anime persona, but each persona is unique and entertaining at times.

Music: I think i've counted a total of five scores throughout the game. I would almost call it muzak because it is forgotten easily. But the music fits the modes so it isn't horrible, that's why it is ok that there isn't that much variation.

Visuals: So it is retro, so if you want a game that has highly realistic characters then obviously don't bother with this one cause you won't be happy.
The graphics are similar to FF Tactics, and some recent games like Disgaea. Some of the backgrounds are repetative, but that's to be expected with a game that was not trying to present itself as something flashy. It hits a certain retro cool.

Controls: The controls are easy, it's turned based combat, so finess isn't an issue.

Gameplay: There are a plethera of: characters, weapons, armor, charms, skills, limit-breaks(i cannot rember what they call them), combo skills, and locations. The game was ripped for attacking the perversiveness, but in all honest the developers pushed it more for advertising. The game is really nothing close to as bad as they make it seem. It's mostly combat, with story, fun fights against hordes of baddies. Did I mention that each act has three paths to take, along with much decision making that dictates how you comb through the world. To me when i play a game it's really about the gameplay, hence why the score.

It's a fun game to play, that will last hours on end, my only regret is that i didn't jump on this game sooner.
