An above-average FPS that is both entertaining and satisfying.

User Rating: 8.5 | Singularity PC
Singularity is a well-crafted shooter with a surprisingly well-written story.

Crash landing on a Soviet controlled island, you - a US soldier - must discover the secret behind what made this island a desolate wreck filled with monsters.

Gunplay is satisfying, and adding some variety is your time manipulation device which can revert objects to the past (i.e. fix them) or to the future ( age and destroy them).

This leads to many puzzles in which you must use the TMD to clear paths or restore containers to obtain health packs and ammo.

The atmosphere in the game is one of the game's strong suits, reminding me of Bioshock. A supposed Utopian society wiped out by an experiment gone wrong.

The graphics are a bit underwhelming but does not detract much from the experience.

The game is rather easy on normal difficulty so I recommend starting on hard.

Singularity may not be a masterpiece but it certainly is not another generic shooter.
