Will we see MS first party games on PS5/Switch 2, Day 1?

I find it unlikely but not totally against it, as an Xbox fan. Seeing Halo, Forza and Gears are known for their multiplayer component, more players is not a bad thing.

Probably some depending on the game. Either way doesn’t bother me any. More people getting the opportunity to play games on any platform is always a good thing.

Seeing that they already do, it's time to rip off the band-aid go all in on being third party. Playstation is the only thing keeping Xbox afloat right now

The only way it will do day 1 on big titles is if MS stop making Xbox consoles, and they've already committed to a next gen machine.

I don’t see why not. All it’s gonna make people do is either pay $70 or see the value in gamepass and go with an Xbox or PC. Seems like a win-win to me for everyone. If every game is going to PC day 1, it’s obvious MS isn’t concerned with hardware sales like the other 2 are.

Yeah, I will still play Xbox. I don’t mind more people playing Xbox games. In fact I am excited that I am able to play games that a wider audience can enjoy

Anyhoo the only way Sony get Xbox games apart from COD day one is to bend the knee again and allow ganepass on dust station....and with the Sony first party road map so desperate and playstation being in last place this could happen sooner than you think

I think they will on certain games. Like indie games and multi-player games. Though I feel like they'll keep their single player games exclusive to the Xbox and PC platforms.

Stuff like CoD? Sure.

Edit: My opinion has always been the same. Everything day one on gamepass. Everything Bethesda and Activision should go to Playstation after one year, except CoD that should go day one. Classic Xbox franchises should remain Xbox/PC. There's some nuance to it, but generally speaking this should have been the strategy since day one.

Some maybe. Really don't care though. The only games I want for Nintendo hardware is Nintendo games, and who the hell wants a PS5 when PC exist?

@Litchie: ps5 and series x provide people easy to play systems. Not quite plug and play as the old consoles but much easier to grasp then pc.

I work with someone younger than me that doesn’t know how to create folders on a pc. A lot of people don’t want to learn the intricacies of a PC. Doesn’t make them dumb or lazy. They just work hard and don’t want to spend their free time with more learning.

I love me some pc though. world of Warcraft, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3. I have planescape and want to play that.

It's about popularity.....Xbox have lost it's king shit stance in the gaming world, so bringing its high budget/popular games to sony will regain some of that lost fame. In other words xbox is dying. So they kinda have no choice.

@last_lap: No, because they rely on hardware sales. MS is mostly a software company. If Sony and Nintendo start putting all their games on PC day 1, then yes, they should also but that isn’t going to happen except a few MP games like Helldivers.

@joshrmeyer: Sony's big budget games are bleeding Sony dry, Sony even came out and said it's unsustainable. They will sell day 1 on PC eventually. As for Nintendo, they would rather go broke then put their games on PC and I kinda find that admirable.

As for MS being a software company, um hello they've been in the console business for nearly a quarter of a century.

Remember when folks said Sony games would never come to PC? Now their games are on PC. That then changes to never day 1, then Helldivers 2 launches day 1. Then the new goal post shift to no day 1 for single player games. Day one on PC is an inevitability. Believing to the contrary is holding on to false hope. I would absolutely love for Sony fannies to continue to hold on to the false hope.😏

i wouldn't be surprised to see live service multiplayer for any IP going Day One to all platfoms this generation..

beyond that, if we're talking PS5 and Switch 2, my answer would be "no" on Day One for a Halo or Gears singleplayer.. this generation, the most they may do is release something like Starfeild to PS5 a few years from now..

if we are talking "eventually in 10, 20, or 30 years", sure.. anything is possible..
