Microsoft Corp.will launch its own mobile game store on the internet in July, creating an alternative toApple Inc.and Google's app stores and their fees.

The store will launch with Microsoft's own games, includingCandy Crush Saga, Xbox President Sarah Bond said Thursday at the Bloomberg Technology Summit. Later, Microsoft will open the store to other publishers.

Bond says the store is launching on the web, versus an app, so it's "accessible across all devices, all countries, no matter what, independent of the policies of closed ecosystem stores."

Lems, in these crucial day, remember, we, cows, we accept you with open arms. No questions asked, you simply Swap sides, and feel healthier by the minute. I think its clear what's happening with the whole Xbox brand, and even you lems are seeing it clearly. This applies to dabear as well, its time to Switch, the PS5 is only $400.

I don't play mobile games, but it's nice to see MS wasting millions to create a store to put games on while axing studios who make games, brilliant strategy MS 🤦‍♂️

Not far off. The Activision/Blizzard/King acquisition gave them a huge boost into the mobile market. Nice to see them doing it in a way that makes it the most accessible way possible.

@Pedro: Everyone knows that Microsoft spent 70 billion just to take Call of Duty off of PlayStation. 😜

So, they got greedy, wanting all the money for themselves and try to create their own store for that?? Didn't they do exactly the same with the PC market and ended bending the knee to Steam?

Not sure why they didn't already launch a store where you'd get the MS Launcher, MS Office, MS Outlook, and MS Teams and Skype, etc, apps but maybe that's coming later.

Strange though they removed Android app support on Windows. Maybe they will try to bring it back through this store.

I love my XSX and play almost nothing else but this news isn’t exciting to me. I really have no interest in playing mobile games, but can understand why Microsoft bought ABK.

@Pedro: It doesn’t change anything really for me, don’t play mobile games, except maybe Angry Birds 2 two or three times a year. Very rarely I play mobile games. I’ve just stuck with console gaming and mainly Xbox.

Then you are set.👍🏽You can look at mobile games as a revenue stream that will potentially aid in funding what you like.

How did you get to the point in life where you think paying a developer full price for a game is the wrong way to go about it?

@last_lap:

Ox xbox...When they offered me Microsoft rewards and day and date on a subscription service....on Ps its more a LoL at the $70 cows who accepted the sony price hike without question..pretty obvious really. also had all my consoles chipped and downloaded games and burned them to a dvd on the 360.

Damn shame they couldn't crack the new consoles...I'd be all over the pirate stuff👍

Glad Google and Apple are getting the competition but I'm not sure how well this will work.

Time will tell and Microsoft are big enough to do this with little impact on other areas.

@saint-george: Maybe you should get a job where you can afford to support your hobby instead of stealing and mooching off of it.

Anyone who steals video games is just...well I won't go any further.

not a surprise.. Microsoft was very clear that aquiring Activiation/Blizzard/King would give them a large foothold into the mobile market...

i guess we'll have to see if they can actually gain any marketshare.. i kind of doubt it since Google and Apple are just too strong in that regard..

You mean the kind of competition Epic and Steam are getting on PC? 😂
