Another great hands on preview for MGS4. Damn these lucky bastards just keep making me want this game more and more after reading such great hands on previews of this game. I cant wait to play the story and am enjoying the hell out of the beta. I am vivalabo2004 if anyone is playing the beta. Anyways here is the link. :)

While I use the 360 far more than my PS3, this thread is WEAK.

Scores are subjective - some of my favorite games scored in the 7s on gamespot (I still fire up my original XBox to pay Blood Omen 2).

All thanks to Blu-Ray and Metal Gear Solid 4. These two things will be the stepping stones for other developers this gen. Kojima Productions and Sony are setting an example here in 2008 and this example is only the beginning of the end for M$ and Nintendough.

We will have better developed games , and the best games. Not only is MGS4 coming out , but it is busting out a new era that will last all the way into the next generation. You must be disillusioned if you think that Grand Theft Auto 4 (PS3) Also on the 360 (day 1), Grand Turismo 5 Racing games are NOT system sellects, Final Fantasy XIII niche title, and Metal Gear Solid 4 niche title will not put the PS3 ahead of the pack. Each first Gran Turismo debut on a Sony console goes on to lead the industry in software sales worldwide. Each Grand Theft Auto game sales more than above average. Grand Theft Auto and Gran Turismo are a part of pop-culture, they ARE pop-culture.

You must also realize that two years from now that Blu-Ray will be much more accesible. More people will want to watch their movies in HD and will need an HDTV. The US economy is on the verge of collapse and what better way to save money and get your HD player fix then to buy a PS3. It's cheaper and you can not only play games, but watch movies, browse the web and play games online for FREE instead of the XboX Live counterpart where you are overly and outragously charged.

PS3 is in good shape for this year and the coming. The future is now and it's time for the Wii and 360 to take a bow. PS3 domination starts NOW.

See Bold. And before you go jumping down my throat about the next FF and MGS4 being niche titles, look at the ratio of PS2's sold vs. MGS3 copies sold. I believe 1 out of 9 (or maybe 10) PS2 owners bought it. Hardly a "sytem seller" ratio.

the 360 is not going to die but as your title says its not going anywhere. let me explain. the 360 still is only big in america. and i looked at consoles sold for america and its only 10 million. i expected a lot more. japan dead. europe... im not sure but i heard its not doing well there either. the 360 is not slowing down and its not speeding up it just there in the middle.

These are just the JRPG's. Then others like Ikaruga and other games too. Why isn't it big in Japan? Why don't these games sell so well? Because it's on a Microsoft console. It's the only thing that makes sence. So far the 360 easily beats the PS3 in terms of Japanese aimed games yet the PS3 beats it every month, hell it could even give the Wii a run for its money. It only sold 1000 units this month. That is truely awful.
Hell if I was Microsoft I'd either forget Japan or remove every trace of western gaming from it. Name change, new look, new icon, everything. Make it completely Japanese. Hell even give it an anime character as its mascot. Maybe then it would sell more because if you look at the stats...well it should be selling pretty damn well.
Look at the PSP. It isn't beating the DS, not even close, but when a new popular game comes out it sells like crazy and even beats the DS for a few months. That should be how it is with the 360 but it's biggest seller sold **** all.

If games like Lost Odyessy were on the Wii, PS2 or PS3 it would sell TONS.

Possibly. It seems to me that the Japanese have the "Buy Japanese" mentality; similar to how Americans used to with "Buy American". I remember watchin a new story how a grass-roots movement in Japan had started to try and get Japanese citizens to buy Japanese made motorcycles, because Harley-Davidson had become the #1 seller. Same story, different product.
