James Cameron the bravest pioneer has gifted us with the amazing world of Pandora.

And now Ubisoft has taken the responsibility upon themselves to make their (wait what second??) own Avatar game.

Seems to be scoring quite nicely.

So excited to play this game. I just don't know how the performance is gonna be.

Rockpapershotgun claims it can't run the game with an i7-9700k, yet every other reviews talks about how well optimized it is, and there is even a 60fps mode on consoles.

Shame Ubisoft doesn't offer a correct refund policy, or else I could still refund it if it really doesn't work on my CPU.

Meh. Not interested in this type of open world game anymore, nor the Avatar franchise. Pandora always looked very bland to me.

Not being a pc gamer i find it strange some recent games ported and day one run like shit on capable/powerful gaming rigs.....what am i missing?

Supposedly it's very immersive (very few hud pop-ups) and I just like the native american way that the na'vi interact and deal with their world.

For me it's all about immersion, and subject matters that interest me, more than say if a game is linear or open world.

@saint-george: The gist of it is that PC gaming is a mess. I don't buy games anymore before reading multiple performance reviews. However for Avatar all the review copies being sent out were PC copies, and it's usually the main platform that is being sent out for review copies.

Where's COD MW 2 and 3 on gamepass? :'(

Exploration & Guided modes in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Giving you the option to have every icon highlighted on the map,or limited map info and you have to find and use clues,talk to NPC's and presumably get within distance to highlight it on the map!

Yeah I'm very happy with the score it received. I knew it wouldn't be perfect (Ubisoft game so some repeated content is detined to be there) hehe.

We've come to know this with AC titles as well, but along with its first person perspective this just sounds highly immersive.

I would have prefer this game supporting 3rd person. I don't like contextual switching of perspectives in games. It is jarring and most jarring with FPS games.

I guess sometimes it can be done right. In Battlefield you had this birds eye perspective and it zooms in and bam you're in the game in 1P.

Before they had this system where you saw your teammate in 3P and spawned in that way. Likewise when you die it goes to a 3P perspective too.

As for singleplayer games I'm thinking of Thief: that game was entirely in 1P, but then as soon as you climbed up something or engaged with parkour it would become 3P.

But you're right: a game should stay with the same perspective, kinda like what Far Cry does too.

Yeah after the gameplay reveal I thought an 8 was kind of the highest possible given the ”FarCry”-look (sorry for using that expression 😝)

Dang, this game is reviewing horribly. It’s in the 60’s now. It’s be $19.99 soon, so best to wait.

Which means that just like EVERYTHING by Ubisoft and open world, its like a 4/10, maybe, if we're lucky, a 5/10.

Everything show about this game looked like an empty ass world with decent visuals. Ubisoft has no talent to fill their worlds with meaningful content, so they give you camps capturing as your main and only content, and that's that.

As y'all know very well by now, i am an OG Ubishit hater, and i couldn't be happier to see this game bomb. I want Yves to put all the blame on their devs for a second year in a row. The more drama with this company, the better😎

Scores has less relevance to me than the actual review, and having just skimmed through about half a dozen of them... ...it's as I suspected; Far Cry with blue cat people and a bit of nice scenery. Typical Ubisoft fare.

Don't let that scare you. Even The Division 2 benefit more cores & threads (8 cores/threads or more is nice) but even using 6 cores still makes the game playable. Hell, the Witcher 3 wants you to have more than 6 cores, but even that didn't seem to bother for those with only 4 cores.

Sure, I maybe running on a R9 5900X with the 12 cores/24 threads but I don't think it personally matters but 6 cores is fine for gaming and I see that as the standard.

I don't think ABK games will start coming to Gamepass until next year. That's why there's no point in buying any Activision games in the Xbox sale, because they will come to Gamepass.

I’ll wait for a Spider-Man 2 sale instead of full-price this. I’ll pick this up on a sale, as much as I would like to give Ubisoft my money.

The latest open world copy paste busy work game from Ubisoft. Few games are easier to pass on.

I don't even know what live service games they have. I think my brain filters that crap out really well. But yeah, I'd never even consider trying any of them.

Hyperscape, Xdefiant and there's apparently two upcoming Tom Clancy games that Ubisoft has prepared and all ready to throw down the drain.

I never liked calling another game Crysis, but yeah this game is it.

It truly is amazing how well the jungle and foliage is rendered, and it feels next gen in every sense of the word.

Also the gameplay has way more in comon with a Mirror's Edge than a Far Cry. I feel a lot of people are doing this a disservice, just because they heard the words "Ubisoft" and "Open world"

I ran a couple of benchmarks and eventhough I can confirm the game benefits from having more cores/threads, I was able to get some good results.

I got the game to run at a consistent 100fps with FSR 3 frame generation enabled. Really happy with the results! Thanks for the reply as it seemed to me that I was SOL back then :)

Well, they haven't shown us how to make their open world games stay interesting past 10 hours of gameplay yet. If Ubisoft have broken out of their open world template loop and actually given us something else for once, that's cool. Doubt it though.

Graphics are neat, I'll give them that.

The music is breathtaking as well. It's music that feels like it's there and guides the adventure without ever feeling overbearing and like it's taking over the experience.

The whole world just feels breathtaking. Can't stop playing.

If you've played an AC or FC game before, then its a 5/10.

The presence of enemy factories colors the world, which is a mechanic I haven't seen since the excellent The Saboteur.

I've been playing this all day and I've seen about a thousand different types of fauna and flora which is a treat for a nature freak like me.

The water actually has a current in it that sweeps you away, the weather is dynamic and breathtaking, the nighttime in this game is unlike anything you've ever seen in a video game.

Gonna be busy with this game for the next couple of weeks for sure. Love you guys 💙

Played through the tutorial until you get (tiny spoiler) to the resistance base.

Haven't played enough to get a proper feel for the game yet, but it seems pretty cool to me. Pandora looks stunning! And the traversal mechanics make it feel distinct gameplay wise.

Another thing I noticed is how strange it feels to be taller than all the humans 😅. Anyway will play more tomorow and this weekend.
