Nintendo doesn't know what they're doing. Trying to get back the Wii audience is a waste of resources and will kill Switch momentum. I'm reducing my expectations for next year from 15-20 million to 10-15 million just for this terrible move.

So with 75million+ PS4's now sold it's fair to say that most kids have a PS4.......most of the kids friends have a PS4.......... and are parents really going to then buy a Switch on top?

Most people are consumers. They consume. It never stops. And yes, a Switch feels like a different product hence why people would get a PS4 and a Switch on top.

This is why Nintendo doesn't play graphic wars.

@jcrame10: I think it’s got plenty considering it’s not even a year old yet. Look at the PS4, that had nothing in the first year until bloodborne hit.

Switch is successful because of core games. Trying to change that instead building off of it is a bad business decision.

Switch has the best 1st year library of any platform ever. So many quality games

PSflop/Xflop didn't have a single AAA exclusive in their first year. The Switch had 3.

My best guess is some sort of Amiibo like or NFC function in which the figures can battle/interact in some manner through a Streetpass/Miiverese like app. Did Nintendo and GF not say they intend on "hyping up" Pokemon as a brand? Something like the aforementioned function would certainly fit the bill. It's also important to consider Nintendo's need to keep their audience young to ensure consumers maintain a long term relationship with the company. Get 'em young and later exploit the nostalgia.

It says it is specially crafted for kids so this should be interesting for all of us.

BOTW is a Nintendo exclusive that launched simultaneously on the Switch and Wii U. That's still an exclusive. Sorry cows/lems. The Switch had one of the best launch years in the history of console gaming and is on pace to eclipse PS2 sales.

How many amazing killer app games did the PS4 and Xbox One have in their first year? The answer is zero. 3 > 0.

I'll name three consoles that appealed 100% to hardcore gamers. Tell me what they all have in common.

Dreamcast, Wii U, and Xbox One.

Not strictly exclusive to Nintendo hardware though is it...

It also has a bunch of indie games.

It didn’t get any of the major AAA games last year: battlefront, call of duty, assassins creed, mass effect ect.

Unless you’re seriously trying to count games that are years old (Rayman legends, rocket league, Skyrim, la Noire, doom) but I wouldn’t because most people have already played or own these games and aren’t gonna rebuy them for full price.

Not even counting the Nintendo remasters which rivals the amount of actual exclusive switch games: Mario Kart 8, donkey Kong tropical freeze, hyrule warriors, bayonetta 2,

Yeah, switch has about 8 exclusives, tons of indies, no current AAA third party, Wii U remasters and remasters from games that came out on PS3/360 years ago. Lol.

By that logic, neither are many games on PS consoles (mostly PS1 and 2). Again, you're citing unofficial methods as ownage to how Nintendo gamers have no exclusives.
