Pedal to the Metal - The System Wars Podcast w/special guest PEDRO!

What's up System Wars!!? It's been ten years.... Back in 2013, Heil68 and I got tired of arguing on the forum and decided we'd rather shout at eachother in real time.... So we put together the first and only System Wars Podcast dedicated to covering gaming and more specifically the forum we have loved for a very long time....

The Podcast was a source of great community engagement and in each episode we feature a different system warrior to talk games with us.... Back in the day you may remember our community casts where several system warriors jumped in to share their opinions and passion for the hobby.

Ten years.... It's been a decade since we launched our first podcast and hell, I got a little sentimental about it. Engaging with a lively community was a great source of happiness and it was a team effort among so many fantastic people who helped bring it together...

So... Enough blabadonning out of me... Let's get to the show.... I want to quickly thank @Pedro for spending his time with us. His perspectives and thoughts brought this episode to the next level... Mad respect for you Pedro! Thank you for being a part of P2M!

We don't know what the future will be for P2M... We'll likely cast under a different name going forward... We're still discussing. That said, it has been a pleasure serving this community....!

I had to stop listening after about 5mins.

I thought Pedro's Carrabean accent would have been more profound.

Pedro was awesome! A natural on the podcast.

@TheEroica: No offence, but to me, the sound quality across the board was jarring as sone was low, some high, gravily and inconstant and it made your American accents really stand out.

On a side note, I pronounce 2 of the names completely different, so that was very weird to me also.

But you should probably do more, maybe get a hardcore cow on there to see how they really act.

Yeah, we have to get our mics right! I forgot about managing all the little inconsistencies. Sounds fine with headphones on though!

I honestly had no idea there was a SW podcast ROFL. This is hilarious (in a good way!). Why wasn't this advertised more?

Wait, Pedro is from there? Had no idea haha. Dude straight up sounds like a guy I work with who is from Saint Lucia haha.

Sadly, Pedal to the Metal was before my time entering GS, so sadly, I never got around checking it out. I wouldn't know where to start lol.

@mrbojangles25: Well from the West Indies. Yeah I only found out about 6 months ago in the lounge when he commented on one of my retro buys, a game called Brian Lara Cricket on the Sega Mega Drive.

You have to be from a cricketing nation to know who he was.

Pedro doesn't have a thick accent though, and I haven't listened to the whole podcast, but it wouldn't surprise me if Pedro lives in the US and has lost some of his accent.

I remember there was a podcast back when. Wasn't gamespot, but there were SW members that were on it. Never listened to them though. Cool that you're doing it now TC.

@TheEroica: Do you have a program to monitor audio levels for each speaker? Levels are not consistent, I can't hear Pedro at all.

Aside from that, cool stuff. Heil asked me to go on the show a little while back. Thought to myself, lol, if I go on, shit's gonna get wild. Probably start talking about Kojima...and then subliminals....and then microscopic semiconductors in your fluoride toothpaste, tactically encrusting your pineal gland.

Would be fun, though.

Let's chat... Admittedly, when we decided to do a ten year podcast we just kind of picked a date and asked Pedro then jumped in again.... As soon as we started recording I was like, "ehhh should've probably remembered to address the mics ahead of time.... Are you saying you'd let me send you our raw audio and you could clean it up for release?

You weren't around just using the board back then?

My Logitech headset wouldn't work for some reason, had to resort to an earbud..shitty sound from my end. Looking at another option. I do have the Sony PS4 Silver head set, it works wirelessly through a usb dongle. Haven't tried it outside of gaming on console.

I have my studio equipment for my band... Mixing board and sm58's for mics. I have a pop filter too. For podcasts I usually use my blue snowball but I have to make a few tweaks.

Nobody wants you to expose your dongle on the podcast Heil.
