As a blue ray player yes it is. I dont think its a wise strategy by Sony, and I have said that MS had the best by far strategy regarding Sony. blu-ray might win but ps3 as a game system will lose. you might be okay with that if you're a sony fanboy. but as a gamer that's not a good trade.

I can't believe you cows really think Blu-Ray makes the PS3 more valuable. Don't you understand Blu-Ray is the reason PS3 costs so much AND it is COMPLETELY and TOTALLY unneccessary for playing games? The only people who NEED Blu-Ray in the PS3 is SONY because that helps them win a format war.

If you dont, you can always wait for the price drop. I know what you were doing but at least there was some truth in what he said. Besides Resistance and GTHD there isn't many real reasons to buy a PS3 for gaming.
