Street Fighter 6 - 9/10 GS, 92 MC! Update: 2 million copies sold!

Really enjoying the game and pretty satisfied with the initial roster of characters. Hoping to see Dan added in future dlc.

The music isn’t particularly my favourite but it’s ok. Am a bit bummed that there isn’t a big bad boss character to fight at the end in Arcade mode. Someone like Bison, Gill, or Seth.

I know a lot of people say because it's rap, but not really lol. I love hip hop, my favorite genre. Most of this music isn't even that. And the stuff that is that, just a really lame take on it.

I don't think it's actually bad, just barring a few tracks, finding most of it boring, forgettable.

It's been a common complaint for a while now. It's not as if SF games haven't done big music revisions before, so hopefully get some upgrade down the line.

At the very least, hope they add in SFVs music customization options. You could add in music from all kinds of previous SF/Capcom games. Then choose what plays for characters, menus, stages, etc.

I don't think it's bad. Actually think a few tracks are really good. And so far don't think I've heard anything as bad as SFVs lowest lows.

Just overall OST, very underwhelming for a SF game imo.

I made sure to change the options to play stage music, find a lot of those better than character themes.

Still, there's a few bops.

Kimberly's theme is pretty cool.

Chuns theme is growing on me. Doesn't make me think Chun Li, but kinda has some Tekken vibes with a SF accent.

Training stage theme is nice and chill, perfecting for labbing stuff.

I get that Ryu is no longer the "omg super serious" young dude obsessed with his goals. This new theme is like yeah, he's accomplished his shit, just whoopin ass for the fun of it now.

Just feel they could have found a way to arrange his OG theme more upbeat instead.

Music is probably the weakest link of this game. The UX also feels like a step down from SF5.

@SolidGame_basic: sure this has been asked before in a thread but not seen it, are you playing on the standard ps5 controller or have you invested in another pad / stick? will pick it up this weekend if it can be played well enough with standard controller.

haven't played a streetfighter game since 2 lol. time to dust off the skills. cant imagine too much has changed since 91 🤔 i did buy 5, took it round a mate's first night, left it, never seen it since 😕

A lot of Tekken heads actually prefer Korean sticks. They work off a rubber grommet. Snaps back to neutral much faster, makes dashing around abit easier. Etokki Omni is the typical go-to, I bought one of those for Tekken 7.

That being said, way overkill lol. Any quality stick will be great for all of these games, don't need a collection. I just buy sticks like an addict.

Yeah so the Omni is a good stick and happens to be a preference among many Tekken players. Can't go wrong.

But my initial recommendation about Japanese parts (Hori/Sanwa) is what most people go with. That's my preference as well.

It's not so much that you're looking for specific branded box, more about the parts. That being said, Etokki also makes a Sanwa edition. Most sticks from Qanba are Sanwa as well. The Obsidian is a good get if you can find one.

My new stick came in today, so I'll finally be able to start playing for real. Been playing at a friends house and got an account just to the edge of Platinum. Time to start over lol.

Tbf tho, Sim has a shit ton of commands, probably not as bad with a lot of other characters.

Considering how messy a lot of online games can be early on, guess I can't complain. Been pretty much perfect aside from that one hiccup.

As someone using classic controls I don't see why. I am personally glad this game is doing so well, and has such a healthy online scene.

Besides, we are all playing a real game like this, and not a game with little/weaksauce gameplay like Diablo 4.

Yeah I kinda expected gatekeeping from a lot of classic bros. Some of the low level ones at least, nobody good at this game will give a shit either way. Definitely interesting to see the modern bros on the attack tho lol.

@ConanTheStoner: Sadly, no local stores have any of them, not a big fighting game scene here in sweden. So I am looking at the german amazon, which has since Brexit, that has been my go-to for international shipping.

PC gaming dominates and with it, strategy games, MOBAs and shooters are by far the most popular genres. Fighting games never really caught on. While people respect Street Fighter and Tekken. They mostly only play Smash.

Edit: On the bright side, I was successfully able to pull combos on the controller yesterday while labbing. I still can't pull off any supers yet though, but I am getting there.

Oh for sure man. Most places aren't gonna carry arcade sticks in stores. And if they do, usually some really shitty ones lol. Always end up ordering mine online as well.

I believe Etokki ships stuff all over as well, but yeah Amazon is usually a good bet. Can be tough around the time of a major fighting game release. Every time a new SF or Tekken releases, a lot of the good sticks sell out fast.

I'm having a blast so far with this game. Finished my placement games. Ended up in a solid Plat 4 with Marisa.

I'm hoping to play and improve a bunch more before the local tournament this weekend.

People using the Modern controls in this game doesn’t bother me any. Personally I couldn’t wait to change the controls over to Classic as soon as possible. It’s what I’ve been using since SFII and am most comfortable with.

Pretty much what done as sure case with pretty much any folk coming back.

From what I can tell, it is done by classic players who were never really that good at these games, and use modern controls as an excuse for losing games.

Not sure tbh. So far I've only played in fighting grounds. Hang out in training mode, queue up for ranked matches. Only thing you can see before accepting a match is the opponents connection quality I think.

Maybe it's different in battle hub?

I highly doubt Capcom will add filters for that tho. It's the same as how people always ask for the ability to filter certain characters lol. Like **** off with all that. Defeats the point if you're cherry picking your ranked matches.

Personally don't even pay attention to whatever control type is being used, just trying to win is all.

Though Maroxad is spot on. People will use any and all excuses for their losses. Having different control types just adds another excuse to the deck lol. The true meaning of scrubbery.

Anyone watching the Twitch Rivals thing for Street Fighter 6? Got a bunch of fighting game guys divided into teams battling it out. Part one was yesterday and the second half is going on now. Watched a bit yesterday. Was pretty fun.

I know it's not funny for you, but it is funny seeing the glaring difference in this games reception.

Your issue with stability isn't isolated. Custom lobbies haven't functioned correctly from the start. Even the battle hub workaround people were using seems to have crapped out. All those accusations of SFV being lame on content and pricing, a lot of it actually true here. Each character gets 1 costume instead of 3. Each character gets 2 colors instead of, what was it, 9 or 10? Aside from SFV having more to start, could easily purchase even more just from playing the actual game. Here you'd have to go screw around in World Tour and still end up with less.

I went ahead and tried the arcade mode. Figured this is what put SFV on trial, why not. The story panels are about the same quality as SFVs character story panels - not great. How tf was this ever a difference maker?

I'm loving SF6, just as I loved SFV. Just find it amazing how game journos, and in turn the gamers themselves, have come out with wildly different narratives for these games. Worst thing ever vs best thing ever, wtf?
