The Top 100 software in terms of Sales for the N.A. Market in 2006

This list is the top 100 games which sold the most in the year 2006 for the N.A. Market. The list comes from a Chinese Magazine I ordered while working in China a several months ago (one of my Chinese relatives snail mail it to me every month). The numbers are based off Media Create so it's probably accurate. Without further ado, let's take a look at the list.

Compare this to NPD Group's Top 10 U.S. list. There are some major fluctuations. Nintendogs is not on the U.S. top ten! This is due to a number of factors such as differences in collecting data etc. Otherwise, the numbers remain about the same.

1. Sigh on EA. Like it or hate them, their trash earns money! LOT's of it!!! Madden is getting stale but it still rapes casuals for oodles of cash! No ways around this guys!

2. Great news for MS and GeoW!!! And wow at Halo2, still selling after all these years. X360 Software sales and carry through are good. Hope MS can keep this up!

3. Sony is STILL making a killing of the Ps2. Good news for them! A majority of the games on that list are for the PS2. Sony needs this because....

4. .....PSP and PS3 is taking a pounding in sales! PSP top selling game is Madden NFL 07 at 44 while you have to look down, way down the list at number 90 for the first PS3 game, Resistance: Fall of Man! Not good for Sony!

5. Great news for Nintendo in general! Zelda is selling great for a launch game at number 12 in N.A.! This plus the NGC sales means it's almost at 2 million sold! Add in Japan and Europe sales, and that number will top 2 million easily! Meanwhile, the NDS is dominating! Both Nintendogs and NSMB are selling great. Besides PS2, the unit that pop up the most is NDS! Three spots in the N.A. Top Ten belongs to NDS. If the Wii takes off, then Nintendo could very well dominate the next gen market once again!

Ok, now back to you guys! This is open for discussions! Especially for Sony PS fans!!!!

First of all, this is a CHINESE magazine. All the Japanese names of those games are TRANSLATED into Chinese. Which means, I have to run the names through a translation software, then compared it to the Japanese games that I know and then try to come up with a English name! This is NOT gonna be easy and if it gets too hard, I might just forgo this. Sorry! I don't need this sort of pain.....

I think you need to get your eyes checked. The only thing close on that list is GT4, as in Gran Turismo 4. There isn't a GTA4. You musta got all confused by all the GTA games on that list. :p
