Very impressive reveal from Sony. Completely destroyed MS's multiplat non-gameplay reveal.

It's difficult to see what ammunition MS could possibly have to respond to that with their next reveal which will be Halo and... probably Spencer shouting 'World Premier' with a clip from Watchdog Legion or some other multiplat.

I think they'll fight them on price and of course they have Gamepass which actually is quite a big deal. Most of their new studios are making indie quality trash though we may get a nice surprise with a new Fable game but that's just me being optimistic.

If we're honest though, that was a reveal from a company that makes videogames. MS reveal was a desperate attempt to stay vaguely relevant led by the stupendously incompetent Spencer who after all these years still doesn't realise a games console needs fucking games.

My prediction for next gen: Sony - business as usual, AAA videogames is their target. MS - now relegated to renting other people's games out on a monthly basis, hoping to get some of the casual Netflix crowd to buy into their monthly games rental service.

Of course you'll get Halo Infinite and another Gears a few years down the line but from what I'm seeing so far it's pretty much game over.

A good variety of games, a good amount showed gameplay, lots of new reveals.

Ironically the games that caught my interest were mostly multiplats, but still. Good showing all around.

Aside from indie games, multi platform games and games also on PC Sony only showed 2-3 games and only 1 is a launch game.

Yep, it was a pretty solid showing of some great games. Don’t particularly care for the design of the system though.

Still really looking forward to Microsoft’s showing next. That previous one wasn’t really their “big” show though so I’m expecting much more from the main one.

I love Halo/Gears/Forza so seeing anything from those is enough to get me giddy. Also I expect some surprises from their new studios and some strong third party stuff.

Regardless, the show was decent. A few decent showings, but nothing outright mind-blowing. Bluepoint on Demon's Souls is next-level a good decision... They need to be given some free reign and develop something on their own.

Point is, it was a good look at what they intend to do. MS showed literally fucking nothing because that is the total sum of what they have.

It was a much better debut than the Xbox showing, yes. We have to wait for the REAL Xbox games showcase in July.

I love Halo but hated Halo 5 and Gears 5 was just bland. Good but bland. That's not to say Infinite won't be great but they'd need to have a major rethink after 5.

Personally hoping for a new Fable, pretty much all I'm asking from them. Hopes and expectations are at an all time low with MS at the moment.

It was a show that confirmed I probably won't buy a PS5 until 2022 or when the mid gen refresh comes.

So, finally we saw it. Now:

- Is it going to be QUIET ?!?! or, is it going to roar like a friggin jet about to take off like the PS4 Fat and Pro

- Is it going to have USB ports in the back or going to keep those nonsensical and stupid ONLY 2 ports in the front, because I hate to conect external storage on the front of the console

- All those curves ..... lots of neat crevices for every single dust particle to settle on

- Is it going to have a flat side ? so you can place it horizontaly you know.

That's the good thing about consoles, no rush to buy them. Wait for the exclusives to pile up before jumping in. So you can buy a Series X in 2032 lol.

The new Xbox does look better, but when it comes to games... Sony just buried MS alive .

Ms only showed 3rd party partners last month, so comparing the two shows is silly.

Having said that, there was no more gameplay today than in MS's reveal....and the bonus is you dont need a paper bag to hide the xsx like you do for the tumorstation 5.

As I was saying in the other thread, this was the best game show in years. Sony knocked it out of the park.

I always look into my case, just me I guess. But let's be honest, if XSX and PS5 were pink covered with black spots, no one would buy them.

As always people here would make a scene and act like it is horrible,nor the Xbox or PS5 have traditional design for a reason they run to hot for small cases,I would prefer an uggly machine that run cooler than a good looking one that runs hot.

You act as if Sony just threw out games that are so advance and different to current generation games and are only available on PS5 when in reality 90% of what they showed looks current generation and is available on PC.

Your argument is flawed because MS hasn't shown anything.

Launch games and launch price MAKES a huge impact to a buyer... Not fanboys who just buy a console day one and look collect dust till a game they want comes out.

Till we know the price of both consoles and we see the launch games for both console we won't know the full picture... If Sony comes out with the same games as XSX minus 1-2 exclusives and vice versa its no different to what we have now.

The PS4 only started selling after games people wanted came out for it, for the first 2 years the X1 and PS4 were neck and neck in sales.

There was a lesson you were taught in graphic design where you draw a square or a rectangle, and draw squiggly lines from all angles, and then take the "best" looking shapes and design your product around that... That's high school graphic design.

The only game they showed that I want is NB2K21 and I'll be able to get that on Switch and XSX when the time comes. Not a fan of Ratchet, GT or Horizon. I'm still waiting on the killer exclusive that makes me upgrade to a PS5

The smushed-backwards-ice cream sandwich-box-with taco camera is on track for another generation at the top, I reckon. MS gave up on games-driven platforms and instead is all about the MS/Direct X ecosystem, live services, and subscriptions. They can't beat Sony at making good games, but they can truncate third party developers ability to make them.
