thank god they left in six axis,  it was so vital for the games that used it like that time in uncharted and that other time in.... ummmm... those.... other games.... that... used it.

I know that people tend to prefer the Xbox gamepad, but I've been using Playstation gamepads ever since the original Playstation came out and I've never had any complaints about them. *shrugs* If people hated the Playstation game pads that much then they probably would have been fixed by now.MrGeezer

To be honest I thought the PS3 controller to be better then the 360 controller, even for fps's.. Using the bumpers for PS3 felt way more responsive then using the trigger settings for the 360..

I find the dualshock my favorite for action adventure games, especially anything involving platforming. I use it on my PC more than any other controller.

When it comes to shooters I'm always using a mouse, unless it's a console game. The incredible amount of bitching the DS3 has had to endure this generation is rather laughable when it's a solid controller in and of itself.

While the original post is rediculous, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of games require your left thumb to be on the left analogue stick and your right thumb on the face buttons. So your thumbs are mostly asymetrical on the PS3 controllers.

Well the 360 pad is widely considered by most to be the best. The X1 is clearly an upgrade of the same design.

The DualShock 4 looks like a cross between a DS3 and something you would find in the Early Learning Centre.

I don't need to hold them to make an educated guess, it's clear to everyone except a delusional fanboy that the Xbox controller will once again be the peoples champion :cool:

While it's a definite improvement over the DS3, the design is still very inadequate for the serious gamer. It's still too small, has poor stick placement and useless gimmicks like sixaxis and a tiny touchpad. Plus they have now felt the need to have pretty coloured lights on it :roll:

The X1 pad on the other hand takes the greatest gamepad of all time and makes it even better. An achievement of epic proportions that some said was impossible :shock:

So have $ony missed a trick by targeting kids instead of serious gamers who want precision and comfort from their controller?

X1 controller does look better. I always hated that the analogs are at the bottom for PS. Not very confortable compared to the stick placements like the X1 and GC had.

i've been using my DS3 pad since 2007 and never had to replace the batteries, and they always keep a long charge.

AA batteries are just so fvcking retro, I'd rather not bother with them.

It looks great. Even better than the DS3. The DS3 was perfect excluding the triggers. Sony had the best foresight of the big three big by deciding to forego AA batteries, instead opting to invest in a rechargeable controller. At least MS was smart this round and copied Sony's idea. That's a plus for both camps.

I think the PS4's controller looks alot better.

Looks like a big improvement over the DS3 but i'll reserve judgment till i've held it in my hands.

Also if Bungie has had input into it (like i'd imagine they did with the controller S and 360 pad) it's all good.

Looks like a banana with two analog sticks slapped on and a touch surface in the middle to me.

The X-bone pad looks much more comfty and ergonomic if you ask me.

I do not like when my thumbs hit each other when I play :(

Other than that it looks like they took a lot of notes from the 360's controller. The ergonomics look way better, the triggers look way better, and the return to concave sticks will be really nice! I'm always having to readjust my thumbs on the PS2/PS3 dualshocks because they're just so slippery.
