What should be the fate of the Halo franchise?

I'm for more Halo if it's good. Don't care much either way, but if an extremely slowly developed campaign with missing features and a lackluster MP mode is what they have in store for Halo in the future, count me out.

Oh, and if 343 makes the next Halo, I'd just lol and ignore it completely.

Keep doing what they are doing. I see no need to reboot God of War, and I see no need to reboot Halo. Both are great 9/10 games, praised by the media and played by millions. As big as Halo is, as popular as it is, I see it continuing to go up and up.

Take a break, formulate an actual plan for the IP, then do a back-to-basics reboot. Trim all the melodrama and pseudo-mythological fat, concentrate on the core appeal of the game, as a certain YouTuber once put it; "bastards hate humans, kill all the bastards."

For SW's sake, i hope it stays exactly as is. This thing keeps offering content, and that's free entertainment.

For MS's sake, THIS was supposed to be a reboot, and a reboot is what's needed. Reality is, this wasn't a reboot unless adding a grappling hook is what MS considers reboot worthy.

They need to do drastic changes. How drastic? Such as going from a first person game, into a third person one. The change that needs to happen to halo is so massive that Microsoft is simply incapable of doing so. So truth to be told, no matter what people want, this franchise will stay as is, stale, outdated and with a developer that has no vision for the future of the series.

Go back and examine what made Halo 2-3 so great.

It is up to the IP holder, not the consumers, that should decide the fate of the Halo series and it would be best that Halo go forward and be a living series in future games instead of a stagnant one.

My guess is that @Pedro finally had to take his real life job seriously, hunker down and get to work. That means stop going to SW for a while. I hope thats what it is anyway.

Also, pick Arkane to make a Halo spinoff. We all know that would be a GOTY contender. No online bs, just a straight proper immersive sim in the Halo universe. Make sure 343i won't get nowhere near it. Even @ghosts4ever would download the torrent and play it.

You guys are right. They should drop anything related to 043i, and focus on what made CE so revolutionary. Great weapons, great MP, LAN functionality, no recharging health. And they should avoid everything that has happened to the series in the past 20 years. Then they might have something.

Halo will be fine. Just keep fixing Infinite as they did with the Master Chief Collection.

The key is to make sure the Halo Infinite sequel releases 100% completed. Release a battle royal mode. It should also have diverse biomes in the campaign. If they do open world as they did again, do it better. High-quality side quests that are important.

@kathaariancode: no, your suggestion is terrible. Halo Infinite is doing fantastic. The new coop mode and forge, plus new maps are just the beginning.

Just for everyone's peace of mind. Pedro to my understanding that he isn't banned nor got to any trouble at all so he's still a good led.

Looking at Pedro's last post saying he'll see you next year meaning he's taking a break from SW and will come back when the new year arrives.

That being said, I too need to take a mighty break from SW myself and the holidays of Nov/Dec are my busiest time of the year, I really don't have time to be coming to GS so if Pedro is taking a break till next year so will I. Ta Ta for now✌️👋

I'd finish up content for infinite then shelve the series for a decade. Come back with a dev team that isn't an utter mess.

Halo has been meh since post halo 2. I'd rather the team make a new ip and retire halo for several years. Bring it back later when they've got something to say.
