A good idea

Soul Reaver is primarily a good idea. Not a good game. You guys may say I am not been true to the game's content - well... I can prove I am. It is simple. Basically, Soul Reaver goes through amazing graphics, wonderful voice casting, an amazing world to explore and immersive atmosphere. Everything in the game impress for being so genial and innovative. The game truly have a good substance for its difficulty and its lenght. Yes, I am saying Soul Rever is hard that it may actually feel long, although the game itself isn't that dense.

What I mean?

Soul Reaver is a game with a LOT of references of its predecessor, Blood Omen. Almost all the time, Raziel (one of the main characters) is dealing with the past tryin' to figure out the mess he's gone into. You persuade all the game along a bunch of Raziel's brothers. This guys don't add anything to the plot... and they actually feel like the big boss after the stage. Just like in the old Beat'em up games. You get to a place, solve the puzzles, beat the boss, gain an ability... another place, solve puzzle, beat boss, ability... place, puzzle, boss, ability. Between this words, sometimes, there is some dialogue and there is plot. This plot consists in Raziel angered with his creator, Kain, or talking with his guide, the Elder God. There is a scene that Ariel, one of the most important characters in the full plot, appears. But, she didn't actually say anything important... and if you want to know what is happening into this f***ing s*** you have to go back to Blood Omen, omg.

So...

Soul Reaver is a good idea of game. But, if you want to get into the plot you have two ways: either you play BO, or you wait to play Soul Reaver 2. Besides this, it is a fun game. You will be amazed with graphics, you will find every place interesting and you will be wanting more Soul Reaver when its done.
