The game that made me want to buy a Dual Shock 3...

User Rating: 10 | Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots PS3

Warning: Spoilers

When the ps3 first came out, the only downside is that the controller lacked vibration, which was quickly solved with Dual Shock 3. Battery life was improved a bit from the Sixaxis controller, and the controls were bigger. The first game to use it? Metal Gear Solid 4, the first game in the franchise to run in 1080p and on bluray with lossless audio surround sound on a dual layered disc. It also had Metal Gear Online, which was short lived and relied on unstable servers yet they had a podcast offering tips on the game in the extras. As for the game itself, it's pretty long if you include the endless cutscenes which the viewer can skip easily. Replay value is pretty high and it's very challening. It's a perfect end to a franchise that would continue with a semi-sequel Revengance and an epic prequel The Phantom Pain/Ground Zeroes, which is the last Metal Gear Solid game, soon to be followed by a possible live action movie.
